Resumo: Main aim of the European Voluntary Service project “Want a job? Go outdoor!” is through outdoor and adventure education to promote life skills and abbilities (team work, communication skills, time and resource planning, conflict management, etc.) as important aspects for successeful involvment of youngsters in their future working environment.


Objectives of the project
1. To develop understanding about importance of life skills and abilities as important part of future working environment for 5 youngsters from different countries during 5 months, by providing them positive learning environment and theoretical and practical tools about outdoor education;

2.To prepare EVS volunteers with practical skills, knowledge and attitudes for job environment and to transfer this knowledge to local youngsters;

3. To raise awareness about active participation as a tool to gain important skills needed in future jobs between almost 600 youngsters;

4. To develop understanding about active citizenship;

5. To promote non-formal education, outdoor education and a healthy lifestyle between 600 youghsters in period of July and August 2013

Perfil: • age between 18 and 30 years old
• willing to spend 5 months in a mountain region of Romania
• willing and able to take part in a program that requires daily physical effort– most of the activities involves hiking on the mountains
• willing to spend one week camping (sleeping in tents, organizing activities for youngsters)
• motivation to learn life skills and abilities important in future working environment
• motivation to learn about active participation in social life and about active citizenship
• motivation to develop themselves as well as others as active and caring citizens that are empowered to involve of the life of their community
• open-mindness and willingness to discover other cultures
• willingness to work with young people
• interest and/or motivation to learn about outdoor education as a tool in work with young people
• basic knowledge of English

Tarefas: • Participate in trainings about tools and methods of outdoor education and about methodology used within IMPACT Clubs (in June)
• Being involve weekly activities,
• Being part of the camp animators team, facilitate activities of the camp for youngsters 12-18 years old (July and August)
• Prepare "traditional evening program" during The Camp - program made up from games, dances or other traditional activities attractive for young people.
• Organize workshops for youth from local community in order to teach them how to write a CV, a motivational letter or how to present themselves to an interview (September and October)
• Prepare personal presentation about their experience during the Service Project, about EVS and Youth in Action program in general to local IMPACT club members (October)

However there will be space also for developing personal projects in the context of the camp or IMPACT meetings clubs
