Resumo: SAOP (Association for Active Recreation and Integration of Handicapped), is a free association for everyone who has an interest in improving the lives of those with disabilities, especially children.SAOP seats in premises of Children integration centre and special kindergarten in Prague 4. The majority of SAOP everyday services is provided in this special kindergarten. However, some services of SAOP are provided in other non-profit organisations in Prague. Activities of SAOP are open to everyone. Children Integration Centre provides a great variety of different therapies, e.g. hydrotherapy (bubble bath, sauna, exercises in water), ball automassage therapy and the whole range of other special rehabilitation methods. It also offers leisure activities for children - such as yoga, playing a flute, English lessons.

Perfil: We welcome people with interest in work with mentally and physically handicapped children. Good communication skills, responsibility and creativity are also convenient. The volunteer should not have communnicational or emotional obstructions towards multihandicapped children. The project is not suitable for volunteers aged 16 or 17, because the work with children with special needs is emotionally demanding and requires certain maturity. We would like to mention that the manipulation with children can be sometimes physically hard (some children are fully immobile and weigh more than 15 kg) and that the volunteer may be involved in social hygienic care of children with special needs (bathroom and toilet care).
