Resumo: We could call that library the first Public library in the city, though that library had almost only religion literature and we don’t know if the library was popular and how long it existed.

In 1977 we became the District Central Library with 32 branches in the villages.

In 2002 the Centre of information and education of Adults was opened. In 2003 the library started to create electronic catalogue and since then the library participates in LIBIS (Lithuanian Integrated Library Information System).

Perfil: - good communication skills,
- high level of spoken/written English,
- computer literacy,
- be open minded and with strong affiliation to people
- should be able to work independently as well as in a team
- age: 18 until 30 years old

We expect to receive active volunteers, willing to take initiative in volunteering promotion and development.
