Resumo: EVS (RO) MANIA aims both social and personal development of volunteers through community development by providing them new opportunities, new skills and abilities, promoting European
Awareness, encouraging youngster’s participation in local communities’ life and strengthening international partnership and cooperation.
The key theme of the project is rural development and using non formal educational methods for encouraging and increasing the active participation of youngsters in their local communities.
Objectives:
- Stimulate the intercultural learning process and enhance the European Awareness and Active Participation within the hosting community
- Provide the context and the opportunities for all volunteers to develop both personally as well as socially by acquiring and improving new skills and competences as well as boost their selfconfidence
- Contribute to the community development by boosting the participation and active involvement of young people in their local communities
- Encourage the participation of youngsters with fewer opportunities
- Widen and strengthen the partnership and co‐operation relation in between all project promoters
Who are we?
Asociatia Libera Initiativa si Antreprenoriat Tismana (A.L.I.A.T.) is non-profit organization active in the field of non-formal learning and youth work since 2009. Our association has working experience on local and International level.
Since 2011, ALIAT has got an accreditation to implement European Voluntary Service project as sending, hosting and coordinating organization - 2011-RO-29. After it, we are hosting group EVS
projects.
What is EVS (RO) MANIA?
Asociatia Libera Initiativa si Antreprenoriat Tismana – ALIAT is implementing group EVS project that addresses all young people (18 – 30), regardless of gender, religion, social or educational background. The project takes place in rural area of Gorj County. Key theme of the project is rural development.
How long is EVS (RO) MANIA?
The EVS Service will last 5 months starting with 1st of September, 2013 until 31st of January, 2014.
Which countries participate in EVS (RO) MANIA?
Group EVS project “EVS (RO) MANIA” will gather 6 International volunteers coming from Program and Neighbouring Partner Countries, such as: France, Portugal, Poland, Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia. The Intercultural dimension of the project will be enhanced by the presence of 6 International volunteers in hosting community.
Why EVS (RO) MANIA?
ALIAT continues to implement EVS projects in GORJ County. Our previous group EVS project finished with a lot of good results and activities implemented: theatre workshops, environmental protection campaigns, music lessons, singing lessons, origami lessons, dancing lessons, painting lessons, scale events related to International and National Days (International Volunteers Day, St.
Valentines Day, European Youth Week, International Children Day), sport and outdoor activities, Intercultural evenings, flash mobs etc. Each group EVS project that we implement will continue, strengthen and improve the initiatives developed so far. For such an activity to take place we need group of 6 motivated volunteers, interested to provide their time, skills and positive attitude in order to continue the development process.
Perfil: - Candidates between 18 and 30 years old
- Basic level of English language
- Be highly motivated and creative
- Willing to live in rural area

Selection Criteria:
· Candidates should be between 18 and 30 years old

Tarefas: - Attend all preparation, evaluation, planning and thematic meetings
- Attend all language classes, participate in the class , learn and prepare accordingly.
- Prepare themselves for each meeting with the requested materials (for example: filling on time the monthly evaluation forms)
- Prepare and develop non formal educational activities (sport activities, dances, singing, art, theatre, civic activities, environmental actions, etc) with youngsters from the hosting community
- Be open minded and develop innitiatives in the communities
- Openly communicate with the mentor, the local community facilitator, his/her peer volunteers and the EVS coordinator
- Be responsible and meet one’s tasks accordingly.
Example of activities:
- Daily activities with school children
- Language Sessions (English, French, German, Spanish, etc)
- Art (painting, modelling, handicrafts, etc)
- Drama – Theatre plays
- Sports & Dances
- Green Activities (Cleaning Areas, Planting trees, etc)
- Cultural Activities – Countries and customs presentations, dances, culinary events, etc
- Camps, outdoor activities,
- Presentation sessions on: Equal rights, Democracy, European Institutions, Etc
What I will do as an EVS volunteer?
EVS (RO) MANIA aims 3 dimensions: personal development, development within the host organization and community development. EVS volunteers will be responsible to organize different kind of events/activities for kids and students based on non-formal education. EVS project is
designed onto:
· Rural Active Citizenship
· Cultural Diversity and Recreation
Rural Active Citizenship
In the hosting community the volunteers will develop and implement extra-curricular activities for the children and youngsters from the kindergarten, primary, secondary and high schools.
Some of these activities can be:
· Language Workshops (English, French, Portuguese etc)
· Presentations on European Institutions, Democracy, Human Rights etc
· Workshops on Photography
· Green Activities (planting trees, flowers)
· Ecological campaigns (cleaning areas)
· Sport and outdoor activities
· Camps
The volunteer who wants to work in this direction must like to work with children and adults/teenagers.
Cultural diversity and recreation
The volunteer can work in the hosting community, with children and pupils in the following locations: Kindergarten, primary, secondary and high school. Example of activities:
· Traditional/Modern dance classes
· Music/singing lessons
· Theatre plays/workshops
· Intercultural events
· Culinary events
· Tradition and customs diversity
· Painting lessons
· Celebration of International days (International Volunteers Day, The day of Tolerance, International Thank you day)
The volunteer who wishes to work in this direction should have basic knowledge of his/her own culture and wish to share it with others, have basic skills as animator and willing to learn more in the rural environment of Romania.
