The history of the city goes back thousand years when for a long time there was a residence of polish monarchy there and the capital of Poland. It was also a birth place of one of the oldest universities in Europe. The town is anything but dull; the city offers great variety of exciting and entertaining cultural and artistic events. Enthusiasts of hiking and outdoor activities will find our mountain region full of great opportunities for mountaineering and rock climbing.

We particularly welcome those who would like to share their artistic, musical, dancing, cooking, woodworking, craft, and other expertise and talents with us. At the beginning the volunteer will have a lot of support. There will be an activity coordinator, who will help, teach and support the volunteer in the way to learn how to work with disabled people. Above all it is important that the volunteer is a gracious individual with strong non-verbal communication skills so it would be easier to come in contact with the people we worked with.

When the Hosting Organization looks for a new volunteer it will work in close cooperation with the Coordinating Organisation. Since our implementation to EVS in 2008 we have had cooperation with organizations in more than 10 European countries and among these also some, which are acknowledged as EVS sending organizations and very interested in being able to send volunteers to Poland.
