The hosting placement is located in a town with about 1 000,000 inhabitants and belongs to the Euro-region. The town lies the bank of the Vistula river. Because of its location you can meet people from different nationalities. According to the legend, the town was founded by prince Krak. The first documented reference to the town can be found in records from 965 of the Cordova merchant Abraham ben Jacob. He mentions a rich burg city situated at the crossing of trade routes and surrounded by woods. It is a town with lots of green areas, fine trees (monuments of nature), woodlands and nature reserves. The town is situated near in the pleasant environment of the Polish mountains which provides good possibilities for enjoying the outdoors in the summer and winter. The town's attractiveness stems not only from its places but also the people who build the City's culture, trying to take into account the needs of a diverse group of inhabitants and guests. It is also home to many festivals, many of which have rich traditions and regular audiences. Every year new projects emerge: Misteria Paschalia, Sacrum-Profanum, Museum Night, The Festival of Polish Music presenting the works of Polish music in world's greatest performances, and the Nations' Drama Festival.
In the town are several other possibilities for leisure time activities. You can go to the cinema or theatre. The town library and the Cultural Centre organize several exhibitions and lifelong learning activities, e.g. lectures. Internet is available at the above-mentioned institutions and the Internet Cafe. For sport activities you can choose among bowling, squash, swimming and skating.

The roles and tasks of the EVS volunteers at Inspire are various and not necessarily carried out at the same time, but each volunteer helps in the many areas depending on the areas of need and the areas they feel competent in working. Volunteers will work with the children with a disability who attend to the school and assists the teachers and therapists who deliver the various skills, life skills, art and craft sessions as well as therapy in our multi sensory treatment. Volunteers will have the opportunity to come up with their own initiatives regarding any project and then discuss the proposal with the person in charge of the actual department. Volunteers would be given the necessary training depending on the tasks assigned. Working in our school, volunteers gain experiences in dealing with people of varying abilities and how a joint effort can make the difference in the life of a person even if for a brief moment.
