Resumo: Our organization (Research and Treatment in Mental Health and Social Services) is a non-profit institution, founded on 30 August 1994 and classified as of particular healthcare benefit by the Ministry of Social Affairs on 2 March 1995.
Its principal aim is the development and dissemination of actions in the socio-health field in order to improve the quality of life of people suffering from mental illness.

To achieve this objective, we carrie out different activities, some of them are: Psycho-social rehabilitation, labour integration and educational programmes, cooperation projects in socio-health matters with Latin American countries and research, technological development and innovation projects.

We are the only organisation in Castilla y Leon that works in the field of mental health attention that has received the EFQM certificate (European Foundation for Quality Management) for business excellence in its European Quality (450+).

This EVS project aims to promote equal opportunities, social and labour inclusion and the improvement of the quality of life of people with disability due to mental illness through carrying out of different activities by volunteers from Europe and Latin America.
The tasks of the volunteers are structured in one of two locations. In service, volunteers’ tasks will consist in helping to organise and carry out educational and leisure activities such as a workshops about communication and social skills, visual arts, etc. and offer support during the daily activities to the Residents (people with mental health issues) who lives at the Foundation’s Residential Care Center or attend training activities at the Daily Care Center.
In the other center, volunteers will support users to carry out educational activities which will be always according with volunteers’ interests.

This project plans to receive eight volunteers from different European, Eastern Europe and Caucasus and Latin American countries (Portugal, Italy, Chile and Ukrane) during a service period of twelve months, starting in October or November 2013.

Perfil: - between 18 and 30 years old
- likes supporting people with mental illness
- hilst working, know more about Spanish language, culture and people

Tarefas: 1. Psycho-social rehabilitation Centre
- Accompaniment to users of the centre with easy procedures.
- Planning and organising leisure and cultural activities.
- Support and monitoring of users in their reintegration in community after periods of long-term hospitalization.
- Accompaniment to users in their process of adhesion to a treatment, that is, motivation and support to continue the treatment.
- Design and development of working rehabilitation techniques (paper, costume, ceramic workshops, etc.)
- Support in social ability and daily life workshops.

2. Working integration centre
- Support teaching complementary subjects, such as participating in leisure activities, English workshops, new technologies (computers, use of the Internet and E-mail) for users.
- Monitoring of users when getting and employment and maintaining it.
- Support users in their working integration processes, such as elaboration of CV, simulation of job interviews, search of employment, etc.
- Support in the design and implementation of social and working ability workshops.
- Actively participate in projects carried out.
- Raise awareness in society about the situation of people with mental diseases.

Apart from these tasks, in both centres, there is a service called Social Insertion Club which organises activities for our users. Volunteers may participate in the following tasks:
- Organisation and development of sport activities and meetings.
- Design, planning and implement leisure activities.
- Organisation of art, plastic expression,... workshops and activities.
- Carrying out cultural activities.
- Inform users about the cultural and leisure agenda, social activities and trips or visits in the city.
- Actively participate in our projects.
- Raise awareness in society about the situation of people with mental diseases.

Formação: Volunteers will receive training at arrival (basic introduction to mental diseases). They will be supported and monitored by our staff (psychologists, trainers, health technicians, etc.) who will supervise them and help them with their activities, motivating them to use their time as volunteers to grow personally and professionalism.

In all cases, volunteers hosted by the Foundation will participate in Spanish language courses to enable a better understanding of the language, history, customs and culture of Spain.
