Resumo: The project is located in a city in the north west of Romania, with 150.000 inhabitans, an historic town which was created in 1329. It is the capital of Maramures County well known for its tradition, culture, folklore, wooden churches and merry cemetery.

It is a city where the modern architecture unites with the old, the historic one, where it`s possible to enjoy festivals, night life, cultural events , and all kind of opportunities because that city is surrounded by mountains , lakes and rivers.

The city is a multiethnical city, we have here beside the majority ( the romanians) – hungarians (15% from the population) germans( 0,35%) , jews ( 0,04%), roma (1,5%), ucranians( 0,25%)
The host project is situated in the city and surrounding areas.

There will be opportunity for volunteers to work with different associations and foundations so there will be field visits to some parts of Romania. This would be offer the volunteer the opportunity to travel to other areas.

The aim of the project is to offer the young people with secure accomodation and enable them to engage in training, education and work experience opportunities. We also support and guide the young people to develop necessary skills to move on to independent living in the local community.

We have experience in hosting EVS volunteers. So far, since 2009 we first got the accreditation, we have hosted 12 volunteers from countries such as: Armenia, Italy, Spain, France, Turkey, Latvia, Portugal.

Perfil: We would like to host volunteers who are interested in work with youngsters from different ethnic environment on the field and who are ambitious about building a tolerant society with equal opportunities for all. We will welcome volunteers who would like to learn from the local people about their culture, history and contemporary issues.

Namely we will welcome everybody who is ready for a challenging experience, who has got a sense of humour, compassion, an open mind and an ability to work in team. Every volunteer schould bring own skills and we welcome prople from all sorts of different backgrounds.

In order to ensure an open and transparent recruitment process, we will first post a short description of the EVS project on online databases such as youthnetworks.eu and SALTO. This pages are open to everyone, so anyone can have access to the recruitment process. Every candidate should send their CV, motivation letter and photo, in order to apply to the vacancy.

Our staff will make the selection based on having interestes towards the activities of the project. The selection process will not discriminate, we will accept anyone’s application, volunteers from different backgrounds and cultures. We believe that anyone is equal and that everyone should be given this opportunity to be selected in an EVS project.

Tarefas: An aspect of the hosting international volunteers is to build a partnership with European NGOs, and have a close relation with them, which may yield to new projects and mutual learning. This will improve the quality of Community Youth Centre`s activities.The organization has main activities runned permanentely in which volunteers can be involved or in what they can bring new ideas. Each projects have some education programme about the objectives of the project.

Our main project is the Activity Space - volunteers are also going to work in this space and support to youth projects, activities and youngsters. Our team works in 3 departments in which volunteers can develop their skills : research , logistics and public relations – as they support any project that is developed in the Activity Space. Here they cand learn and develop their social, cultural, professional skills , communication, organising skills, team work.Kids Club– everyday activities for kids between 5-12 years old , from funny games, music, crafts, dance, to funny science, English, drawing, storry telling – they can be involve in order to organise, run and improve our programme.Social inclusion project “ United in Diversity” – work with roma kids and very poor ones, running different activities in order to provide them a chance in integrating with the other kids. This ca be a very good opportunity to learn how to approach and work with kids with a so different backround than we used to, to establish bridges between us, to give a real chance to the open, multicultural society. A very good intercultural practice and also great learning opportunity. Also they can imporve their administrative and organising abilities taking care of the logistic and all the supportand communicate with the partners involved in the project.. The organization office: Volunteer will help staff of unit with daily tasks. The volunteer will be attending staff meetings, in-house and outside training if acceptable.They will help translation with some documents, following and update for web page. Youth fest – This festival is organized every year, located in outside, in the center of the town. Volunteers will help organize the festival, coordinate activities for youth during the festival. Volunteer are also going to be participant of the festival and they can find chance for meet many organizations from nongovermental field. Community youth online magazine –“ Youth Voice” – to write articles, to come with new ideas, can be very creative and instructive for volunteers.Y basketball- main sport workshop can bring to the volunteers practice, working with kids , social inclusion skills development, communication skills developing and creativity.

TenSing – artistic workshop – music( singing), dance and theatre - the volunter will have the opportunity to learn new things and methods from our volunteers involved but also he can use his/her creativity and artistic skills to come up with new ideas, new methods, write scenarios regarding youth issues, coordinate the volunteers, perform with them in different locations and at different events. The hosting organization joined working with a national Romania in providing different trainings for their volunteers.

They have themes like volunteerism, project management, communication styles, personal development, human rights, teamwork. All this trainings will be given to EVS volunteers.

The EVSers will have the same role as our volunteers, there will be no differences made between them. They will have the opportunity to be involved in one or all our projects and programms , as they wishes, in order to develop new ideas, to share there experience, to improve themselves in social, personal, cultural and professional level. As the organization works regionwide, volunteers may travel to other cities to know young people there and develop their local projects. This travels will give the EVS volunteers to know Romania better and gain a new perspective. The travels can be augmented or dimished in respect of volunteers’ performance and tendency. First 1,5 month we will give orientation for provide language, show the structure, introduce to our partners, prepare to new culture and living in the city. After 1,5 month all activities will trigger. They can be developed according to needs, qualificaitons and expectations of the volunteers. The volunteers are highly expected to take initiative and take responsibility to create their own ideas.

Horário: The working days are weekdays and 7 hours each day. Occasionally, volunteers may be asked for weekends but they get free day(s) in return. A sample of working program can be found below.
- 1 hour administrative office work – twice per week
- 2 hours support and improve the local projects /daily
- 3 hours field activity – social inclusion community project /twice per week
- 2 hours improving the international project / twice per wek
- 1 hour supporting the research and public relation department / twice per week
- 1 hour improving kids club workshops / three days per week
- 1 hour improving the web site / twice per week
- 1 hour writing the blog about EVS experience / weekly
- 1 hour general evaluation meeting / every Friday
- 1 hours supporting the TenSing workshop / twice per week
