Resumo: This project will be an opportunity for the volunteer to get to learn more things, by giving him the ability to achieve goals that until now seemed perhaps out of his reach.
This will help him to face with courage and confidence future difficult situations.
The volunteer will be part of an education team that includes three to four professionals. He will be integrated into a life's unit of 8 to 10 children, with different backgrounds and cultures. He won't replace a staff member.
His presence is a plus to the team where his way of considering things, sometimes innocent, allows enrichment, challenge, constructive questionings .
The volunteer will participate in the daily life of the group according to the specific working schedule (which will be organised and known to the volunteer one month in advance) of the organisation. Also, there will always be another person working alongside the volunteer, which means that the volunteers work will always be covered by a youth worker.
Perfil: - age: 18 until 30 years old
- willingness to help disadvantaged people
- we expect you're able to respect the belief of other people
- to have a basic conversation in French
- should have a driver's license
Tarefas: 1. The volunteer will take part in the daily activities of the institution which are specified below, and will participate in the weekly meetings of the staff members.
2. Other kind of duties could be assigned to the volunteer depending on his personal skills; help with school homework, sport workshops, do-it-yourself workshops, art workshops, music, cultural activities…
3. The volunteer will participate in activities outside the institution (sports, cultural visits, learning French), thus facilitating its integration into local life.
A typical day during school time:
- Help in getting up in the morning, in getting the younger children dressed, preparing breakfast and sharing meals with the group.
- Help in driving the children to different local schools , partners of the institution
- Participating in work meetings
- Participating in organizing extra-curricular activities inside or outside our institution (sports, music, culture, media ...)
- Help with school homework, meetings with teachers, families
- Participation during meal times
- Helping when putting the children to bed
Days when children are off school :
Activities are organized in a more flexible way and adapted, depending on the weather, age, abilities and wishes of the children :walks, swimming pool, cinema, ice rink, outings, exploring the region, participation in events or festivals in the neighborhood.
Horário: The volunteer does not necessarily participate in throughout the day but serves either in the morning from 7 am to 2 pm or in the afternoon from 2 pm to 9 pm.
The volunteer will complete 32 hours of service per week on average, with 2 days off per week.
He gets also four weeks of vacation, to be taken during the school holidays: All Saint's Day, Christmas, winter and Easter.

The volunteer has his own space, separated from the living units, in an area with a private bedroom, bathroom facilities and a small kitchen to share, possibly with a (e) trainee.
A washing machine is available to the volunteer for its laundry.
Food
The meals are taken within the living unit in which the volunteer serves, during his working time. When the volunteer is off service, meals are taken freely according to personal wishes, in private premises or in a collective space reserved for that purpose, or outside the institution. In all cases, the institution ensures the supply of meals and ingredients.
