Resumo: The project will take place in the Donetsk Oblast (province) of eastern Ukraine. As of 2001, the city population was 292,000. It is a coal mining and chemical industry centre.
During the Russian Revolution of 1905, it was the scene of an armed uprising. In recent years many mines have been closed, and the city population fell by more than ten per cent during the 1990s. Ukrainian and Russian are spoken in the region.
The Host Organization is open for those who are clients of the organization, which is open every day from 9-00 up to 19-00. It is used as a place for circles and clubs.
The volunteers will work mainly in the city, but also in Youth Press Club, secondary and vocational schools, institutes and school European clubs.
The aim of the volunteers activity is opening for young people a large variety of ways to express active citizenship through volunteering. Volunteers will not be fully responsible for the whole project. They will assist in projects implementation and learn from project coordinator.
Perfil: - age: 18 and 30 years of age,

Tarefas: The group of volunteers will undertake different activities to promote volunteering, inclusion and active citizenship.
The main activities of the volunteers will be:
1. Assisting in development and delivery of educational activities in the special school for children with learning difficulties.
- Three days per week – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - the volunteers will work with the children in collaboration with their teacher by creating social recreation activities for and with them.
- Volunteers will also help the children in their class and home works by giving them support.
2. Promoting European Voluntary Service and Youth in Action programme in the high schools, universities and local NGOs.
- Volunteers will spread information about values of volunteering and participation of youth in the social life of the community.
3. Preparing a newsletter to be published on the European Intercultural Forum and local websites with the promotion of the project activities. The articles will be as well published in local, regional and national newspapers and on an open facebook group, together with pictures of the activities.
The minimum requirement is one article per week per volunteer.
The volunteers will have time for developing their ideas about different celebration activities related to youth and children.
Horário: Example of the week work-plan:

Tuesday (10:00 – 13:00 Weekly planning meeting in the office; 13:00 – 14:00 Lunch break; 14:00 – 16:00 Meeting with partner organisations; 16:30 – 18:00 Language course)

Condições: Food:
Volunteers will receive pocket money, food money, money for transport (in cash exchanged into Ukrainian currency according to exchange rate of the National Bank of Ukraine) in the beginning of each month in order to take charge of his/her food on his/her own. In this way Volunteers have the possibility to buy what he/she needs and to prepare food just as s/he likes to and used to.
Living_conditions:
The volunteers will be proposed to live in a leased flats with home comforts and modern conveniences. Furthermore the flat provides all items necessary for living: a washing machine, blankets, iron, dishes, etc
Work time:
They will work 5 days per week, 25-30 hours per week. Two consecutive days off per week are planned as well as 2 days holiday.
Transport:
The volunteers will be proposed available local transport to get to the places of volunteering and mobile means of communication with each other and their mentor as well as for emergency calls.
The volunteer will be provided with a local orientation training that will give him first guidance in the new country. The volunteer will be informed about all potential risks and danger s/he can meet during the project.
In general the project will not include any potentially harmful elements and if some may occur in any of the planned activities a risk strategy will be developed with the volunteer.
Volunteers will be provided with a local SIM-cards for the mobile phone and with a list of emergency phone numbers and contact phone numbers of his/her coordinator and mentor.
The volunteer will have a tutor for the work instruction. The host organisation will plan the work with the volunteer step by step to make the results of the work visible and appreciable.
Formação: A tutor will be provided for language training. Although most of the activities will take place outside of the office volunteers will have possibility to reach a working place and internet in office of Prosvita any time of the day. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own laptop. They can have a working place in the office (schedule of office hours will be defined with the volunteer according the project task).
