Resumo: Our center is an establishment for vocational and social rehabiltiation of young people with learning disabilities and handicaps.
We offer 280 young people first vocational training in 27 different professions in industry, trade and the service sector.

The goal is the successful vocational training and social participation by integration into the job market. Our pedagogical concept which is based on Christian religious and human values deeply supports our day to day work.

The percentage of migrants in our area is very high and the unemployment rate is 10%. Most of the people are employed in service sectors, especially in logistics, energy, steel, machinery and other technical branches ( previously famous for coalmines)
This region offers various possibilities for educational,cultural and leisure activities.

The volunteer has to accept the values of the European Charta.

Perfil: - able to communicate in german (more than basic!)
- Age 20 until 30 year old
- We can`t accept addicts and mentally disabled persons.
- creative
- interested in working together with adolescants and young adults in difficult life situations
- have experiences in supervising youth, for example in sport-clubs or in church.

Tarefas: - Employment in house groups where the young people/trainees live and in leisure time activities

The trainees are also supervised and instructed to lead a self responsible life while living in the CJD boarding houses and in their free time likewise. Therefore they shall learn to organise and handle their free time, treat the boarding houses and sorroundings reasonably and handle the order of common life as well as time and money reasonably and responsibly. Full time pedagogic staff with professional experiences of many years are occupied with these tasks. They will supervise the volunteer and will be the tutors.

- The volunteer will take part in sports and fine arts group activities and can offer activities in the leisure and meeting house according to his/her own abilities and inclinations as like:
- group evenings on intercultural subjects
- cooperation in experience-educational projects (for example outdoor activities)
- participation and company of spare times
Holiday leisure time programmes and international youth exchange are a firm part of the special educational programme. Cooperation with all the programmes is very important for the volunteer because she/he can experience goup dynamic processes and even form them.

- The volunteer will be instructed to take over responsibility but however won´t be responsible.
In this field he/she will consequently work the main part of his/her working time. The volunteer´s tasks are in direct connection with his/her own professional training. He/she can deepen and intensify the knowledge already acquired. She/he will learn methodology and didactics of promoting young people with learning disabilities and handicaps between 16 and 25 years from experienced school pedagogues (teachers).

She/he will be given insight into methods and possibilities of the revelation and detection of competences and abilities and of promotion by social training by interdisciplinary cooperation within the promotion teams.

She/he will be given insight into the educational concept of the CJD, which focuses on the whole personality (body, spirit, soul) and into the four core competencies of the CJD, a big association for youth education and social work.

She/he will be offered possibilities and occasions to get to know the cultural offers of the host country and to experience seasonal customs and traditions /habits.

Horário: The volunnteer has to work 35 hours a week (incl. language course), mainly in the evening (between ca. 04.00 to 10.00 pm) and rarely on weekends

Condições: During their work the volunteers will be guided and taken care of experienced and fully educated employees - in the specific area. The employees ensure security for the volunteers and make sure that they will find excellent working conditions.

The volunteer will be accommodated in an appartment of our vocational training institution. The facilities, the equipment and standard in our institution is modern and up to date.

Food will be available in the refectory. Further it is possible to prepare their own meal in the appartment.
Language training is an integrated part of the tasks which the volunteer has to fulfill.
