Resumo: The voluntary activities are mainly going to be based at the boarding facility of the secondary school.
The volunteer will participate in projects elaborated in cooperation with the Youth Centre.

The main area of activities is based around the idea of environmental issues, nature and renewable energy. The volunteer will have the opportunity to visit a class on how to become a technician of energy- and technological-based equipment for buildings, but also a variety of language lessons.

As school finishes at 3.30pm every day, the volunteer will have to be prepared to work mainly in the afternoon and evening (until 9.30pm).

The boarding school is closed on Saturday, Sunday, bank holidays and during school holidays. On Saturdays and during a part of the school hoildays, the volunteer will be included in the activites.

To allow the volunteer to take part in the social and cultural life in Luxembourg she/he will have one free evening a week to use at their own wish.

Activities in which the volunteers could be involved and the activities the volunteers could create in our organisation:
The volunteer will help the pupils with their home work for different lessons (French and/or German and maths).
Further activities the volunteer could be involved: cooking workshops, sports activities (ie football, volley ball, badminton, …), art and crafts sessions.

But the main area of activities will be based around the idea of environmental issues, nature and renewable energy. It will be possible, for example, to create an object based on renewable energy or to visit companies in a related context.
We encourage volunteers to make suggestions and use their own initiative in order to establish their own ideas and talents.

Perfil: - interested in youth work,
- interested in the environment and renewable energy,
- in possession of a basic language knowledge in German or French who is keen to perfectionate that skill,
- interested in meeting new people,
- able to work well in a team,
- able to work independently (in a later point of the volunteer's service),
- able to organise activities and workshops (at a later point in the volunteer's service),
- open for new experiences,
- open minded,
- creative
- age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: The volunteer will be part of the educational team of the boarding school although his/her activities do not replace any employment.

The volunteer will participate in the daily activities of the boarding school and the Youth Center. She/He will assist in supervising and mentoring young people in their daily lives. She/He will help with supporting them with their home work and with organising the activities.

Condições: Accomodation:
The volunteer will be based in a newly renovated guest room in a private family house. The kitchen and bathroom will be shared with the members of the family. The room should be kept clean and tidy. The volunteer will be given their own personal key to the house.

We ask the volunteer to keep noise pollution down after 10 pm in order to consider the family and their direct neighbours. Visiting friends and family are welcome as long as the family members are notified in advance.
