Resumo: The volunteer will work at the Leader office in the municipality.
Our village is located in the western Sweden. The main industries are farming, forestry, paper mills and the car industry. The service sector is growing, as is cultural and art activities and tourism.
The landscape can be described as forests, farmland and water. Bordering east is the big lake Vänern. All over the area there are plentiful of lakes.
In the free time, volunteers can get engaged in a number of activities, such as sports (indoor sports arena, indoor swimming school, horseback riding (riding school), cinema, concert hall. In summer the area is attractive for its many lakes and waters, and suitable for hiking, cycling and canoeing.
We offer to be part of our Leader team; being at present one manager, one administrator and two project leaders. The work will be varied - e.g. helping with our youth project (informing, supporting young people, travel in the area to visit projects, organising meetings and communicating with local media). Helping with our cultural heritage project, in co-operation with Finland and Germany, administrated from Sweden. Office work, writing for the web-site, news letter etc. You will also be able to study Swedish and to meet other international volunteers in group activities. We will do our best to offer interesting and varied work for you.
Role of the EVS volunteers
You will be part of our team, working together with the staff, meaning you will help with a range of matters.
The volunteer´s role is to be a support to the staff, and to contribute with new perspectives to the rural development. Also we hope that the volunteer will give new perspectives and inspiration to young people in the area, within the frames of the youth project.

Tarefas: Our main purpose is to:
- inform about the Leader programme,
- support people who are elaborating project ideas,
- writing applications, and later on carrying out projects.
We also arrange education for project leaders and financial administrators. We communicate with local media, work with our web site, newsletters, organise meetings and seminars etc.
As a volunteer, it is possible to create own projects within the frame of the youth project. Could be Internet based information, blogs, newsletters etc or interviewing and photographing running projects, writing articles, communication with young people in this country and abroad, setting up some activity/event/occasion.
Horário: One week for a volunteer could be like this:
Monday
08:00 -12:00 Staff meeting, weekly planning. Office work; mail, phone and writing.
13:00 - 16:00 Meeting with a group of people about a project application, together with the manager, taking place 1 hour drive away, in a small countryside village. It is about creating trails for walking in the forest.
Tuesday
08:00 - 12:00 Going to a school with the project leader for the youth project. Meeting young people and telling about being a volunteer, also informing about other parts of the youth project, such as project funding and courses.
13:00 - 16:00 Working on a news letter for the youth project, along with the project leader.
Wednesday
08:00 - 12:00 Working together with the project leader for the cultural heritage project. You create a presentation to be held for local politicians.
13:00 - 16:00 Swedish lessons.
Thursday
08:00 - 12:00 You help with the presentation for local politicians, together with the project leader for the cultural heritage project. You also get the chance to present yourself and tell about your work as a volunteer, and present your country of origin.
13:00 - 16:00 Office work with the manager. You write e-mails to volunteers from this area, being in other countries. You help them if they have problems, or you forward to the manager if you cannot solve it.
Friday
08:00 - 12:00 You participate in a course for project leaders. You learn, to better understand the structure of the Leader programme and the tasks for both project leaders and Leader staff.
13:00 - 16:00 Group activity for volunteers, you gather up with volunteers from other organisations in the area, this takes place every week. You meet up to talk and exchange experiences and to have fun.
Condições: The volunteers will either share a big apartment with one single room each or stay in small apartments (1 room, small kitchen, wc/shower).
Formação: Volunteers will get access to Swedish classes, arranged by SFI (Svenska för invandrare/Swedish for immigrants).
