Resumo: Our youth centre is located in a neighbourhood of about 5000 people, mainly of Moroccon origin.

Because of its caracteristics (low-income, high unemployment, small and bad housing-conditions, low schooling), the neighbourhood has been officially 'stamped' as 'vulnerable'. This means that these people do not get the opportunities they'd hoped for in life.

People living in this neighbourhood will tell you that once you've got to know the people, it's a warm place to live.

Our centre is easy to reach through public transport (subway), and the centre of Brussels is only a few minutes by subway or 15 minutes by foot.

Youth from our neighbourhoods need good examples from this to stay motivated to succeed in their education, work or other things in their life.
The volunteer can learn different disciplines in how to work with children. She/he can learn 2 or even more languages, as Brussels is a multi-linguistic environment.

The volunteer is considerd a full member of the team. That means that he/she will participate also at team-meetings, network-meetings and trainings like any team-member.

Perfil: - To do workshops with school-children, we will ask the volunteer to learn some basics in Flemish and/or French.
- lot of energy, enthusiasm, flexibility and an open mind
- some experience in working with children
- has some experience in music (percussion), theatre, sports, dancing, circus.

Tarefas: - Volunteers can help show our youngsters that through EVS you young people get a lot of opportunities to learn more about themselves and other people or youthwork.

- The volunteer will participate in the daily organisation of workshops after school-time and activities or camps during the holidays. Especcially in the cultural disciplines, he can play an important role.

Condições: Living-conditions:

the volunteer will live with a host-family we know, or we will rent a room in a student-house that is conform all safety-rules.
