Resumo: Elliant is a rural community with about 3000 inhabitants, situated 15kms west of Quimper (65 000 inhabitants), in southern Brittany, about 20kms from the sea. The commune of Elliant is set in the in the undulating landscape of the valley of the river Jet.There are two schools, infant and primary, and an agricultural college, which combines academic and vocational training (work experience). 

Tarefas: The young European volunteer will become part of the team of activity organisers, helping to organise and set up projects for the summer holidays.
With the pedagogic team, the volunteer will help in the preparation of the children's activities which take place on Wednesdays (when there is no school) and during the school holidays. This will involve preparing the equipment, taking part in games, organising and accompanying the children on trips and short mini-camps away from Elliant, preparing summer camps and organising activities linked to the volunteer's country of origin (on cooking, language, games, etc).
The volunteer will at first spend about 3 to 6 weeks, observing, finding out how things run, and learning the language. Then she (he) will join in with the team organising activities, and eventually will be expected to take sole charge of some activities.
About 30% of the time will be spent organising and preparing trips, and setting up equipment.
About 40% of the time will be spent with the children, taking part in creative, sporting or scientific activities or outings, for example, to the sea, ice-rink, cinema, theatre etc.
