Resumo: We want to carry out actions with the aim of:

- Enabling the proximity to different ways of creation and cultural expression
- Enabling the acquisition of specific knowledge and abilities
- Offering a meeting place for communications and relations
- Offering educational possibilities for free time.
- Responding to the demand of municipal services
- Managing that youth come to the youth centre, so they know and use all the resources at their disposal
- Creating meeting places for relations and participation out of courses hours.
- Creating communication and relationship channels between youth and the organisation
- Reaching a sector of youth not specially motivated to participate

Volunteers represent an added value to the tasks carried out by the technicians in the Youth Council, who will constantly support them. They may get involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of the different programmes in which they participate.

- age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: 1. Support at the Office:

- coordinating different actions of the YiA Programme, in different international and local initiatives (volunteering abroad, youth exchanges in other European cities,
- support to projects created by youth in Majadahonda,...), it also informs and counsels about the different possibilities to work and study, participate in language courses, work-camps or traineeships abroad.
- Support in conversation workshops: we have conversation workshops for English and French in which they may participate to liven up discussions, nevertheless, depending on the origin of the volunteers, we can organise other workshops in their mother tongues.
- Give relevant information about their country of origin to youth who want to travel to it.
- Talk about their EVS experience to young people interested in the EVS.
- Support raising-awareness campaigns about the EU and the possibilities it offers to youth through its mobility programmes, etc.
- Possibility of creating a personal project. we will encourage and support volunteers to propose and implement activities related with youth of the area, according to their concerns, abilities and skills.

2) Support the activities in the Youth Intervention and Activity Programme in Secondary Schools.

The aim of this programme is to favour the comprehensive development of youth in the town, supporting the educational work done at secondary schools and enabling their access to resources and their integration and participation in the environment.

Volunteers may support in the three action lines: youth information desks; training sessions about values; and activities for youth participation.

- Support leisure activities such as camps organised by the Youth Centre.
- Support information and diffusion campaigns of the activities planned by the Youth Centre through the design of posters and brochures.
- Possibility of creating a personal project. we will encourage and support volunteers to propose and implement activities related with youth of the area, according to their concerns, abilities and skills.

Horário: As the programmes for volunteers mostly take place during the academic year, the EVS activities will normally take place between September and July.

Condições: We will have free weekends, except punctual activities, in which case 2 free days would be given during week days. Holidays: 2 days / month of project, plus local and national holidays. Participation time: 35h/week, approximately, including language and specific training.
