Resumo: Are YOU part of a family environment that includes three generations?
The volunteers should be part of an extended family - children/youngsters, parents, grandparents that includes three generations and eventually live in the same building.
Perfil: - willing to learn the Romanian language ,
- adapt to work in a multicultural environment,
- like to study social and human sciences or/and at least one of the following topics: psychology, sociology, philosophy, social studies, special education and primary and preschool pedagogy and/or any other themes having a similar profile.
- punctuality,
- reliability,
- good English skills,
- they should be communicative,
- able to speak and make themselves understood by a group of people.
Tarefas: Our project proposes two important objectives:
Objective 1:
Increasing the capacity promoting of understanding and of solidarity between generations, those 3 young volunteers during the 10 months, applying direct learning method from identical or similar experiences.
The activities proposed to achieve this goal:
- The approach of some established themes which will be included modules consisting of general knowledge about human rights, mediation and negociation, conflict resolution, dialog intergenerational
- The achievement of sociological studies with young teenagers to identify families with three generations where there are conflicts;
- Each volunteer will choose a family based on a motivation, will socialize with all members of this family and will pursue conflict resolution and increasing cohesion;
- The initiation and the performance of volunteering projects in the community with the participation of both young EVS volunteers as well as of the members of the family - children/youngsters, parents, grandparents with fewer opportunities;
- Celebrating together events in the life of each volunteer: ex. birthday;
- Making additional material and information dissemination: Family Calendar through which the EVS volunteers will become aware of the need to involve all three generations of the family in solving their problems in a friendly manner and the benefit of all.
Objective 2:
Increase awareness and membership of youngsters in Braila city who make part both from the community and from the Family - the basic unit of society, regarding the rights and obligations of an active citizen of the European Union.
The activities proposed to achieve this goal:
- Organizing family meetings in units of education or other proper locations in addressing urban issues from what the EVS volunteers have learned during their training, about Youth in Action, European Voluntary Service, the rights and duties of the European citizenship; the Family Clubs will also work and activate after project’s completion;
- Through existing democratic clubs in high schools from Braila, the volunteers will tackle issues of family democracy and the volunteering actions will challenge three generations: child-parent-grandparent;
- Organizing information campaigns in schools ( high schools) or during the participation at public events of TIA’s Program and of Action 2- EVS;
- the distribution of the Family Calendar, brochure “The gold generations of my family” wich contains testimonials of EVS volunteers, members of families, members of community, local volunteers, valuables information about Youth in Action Program and European Voluntary Service;
