Resumo: The aim of EVS project ”Organise IV edition of Brave Kids with us!” is to promote active citizenship, tolerance and intercultural dialogue, as well as deepen the knowledge about culture diversity for Portuguese volunteer through his/her participation in preparation of Brave Kids - educational program.

Brave Kids is organised annually since 2009 in June and July in frame of Brave Festival - against cultural exile. In 2013, 3-weeks artistic workshops for kids will be organised for 20 group of children and youth (including Georgia, Tanzania, Romania, Greenland, Israel, refugees from Warsaw, Roma group from Czech Republic, Polish kids), 150 participants in total.
During the preparation and coordination of Brave Kids, EVS volunteer will help in festival organising office (contact with foreign groups, database, editing the information about groups on website, cooperation with local volunteers), so he/she could get the knowledge and competence in terms of production assistant position and coordination of cultural events. He or she will increase his/her chances on labour market.
The involvement of volunteers in the Brave Kids will enable both OG and its partner organizations to establish cooperation with organizations from Portugal.

In order to organise Brave festival and Brave Kids we have few ful-time employees. Our office is 120 square meters in the center of the city on the third floor of the medival building.
The hosting organization is situated on the grand floor in the same building with the stage (a 13th Century refectory in a former monastery) and offices of presidents, accountants and theatre managers. The volunteer will stay in Brave Kids section of Brave Festival office and will be provided by the own desk and computer.

Perfil: - experience in their local community especially in terms of children and youth as well as global education, art&culture
- the volunteer need to be well-organised,
- good in English (writing and speaking),
- ready to learn Polish language
- we will appreciate the intercultural experience (in travelling, etc)
- the good language skills in Spanish, French or Portuguese will be an extra asset.

Tarefas: Our work in Brave Kids&Brave Festival is divided into three stages:

1) preparation (September - June).

. help with contacting different international or national intuitions and partners, support fundraising process, contribute to selecting Brave Kids actors - Brave Kids groups, leaders, journalists,
. help in daily routines in the office (creating database of the partners, collecting dates, answering emails),
. supporting marketing, PR, updating website, creating descriptions in English etc.
During this time volunteer will also have the opportunity to involve in organization activities (weekly artistic workshops for Roma children and people with disability, assisting with box office before Theatre performances, helping Brave Festival volunteers with the all-year-going on activities: soup kitchen, organising the charity concert etc). . The volunteer will have the chance to develop own project in terms of using Youth in Action possibilities.

2)Brave Kids.

The volunteer will have the chance to choose one of two main path of Brave Kids:
2.1. assisting artistic leaders during workshops for children (3 weeks from 9 am till 5 pm) or preparing and coordinating cycle of training for leaders of the groups (to stimulate the exchange between adults in terms of art education, pedagogy, how to improve the situation of vulnerable children in the world, supporting their stay and coordinating workshops for them). 2.2. Volunteer can also assist with communication among host families, coordinating local volunteers.

3) Documentation and evaluation.

Writing reports, letters of thanks, collecting all photos and videos, evaluating PR and coordination.
