Resumo: In particular the project environment will be as follows:

1. During the morning the volunteer will be working in the organization’s office where he will be expected to:
a) Research activities for the children and prepare material needed for these activties.
b) Research certain topics selected by the group to prepare presentations and awareness raising activties for the group’s members and the general public (all topics are related to the work done by the hosting organization.

2. Beside this work the selected applicant will also be expected to participate during the usual activities themselves. These will be either:
a) Four hours on Wednesday evening and or Four hours on Saturday mornings
b) Three hours on Friday evenings

3. The selected applicant will also be encouraged to participate in any occasional activities organized by other ngo’s in which the group involves itself. Obviously, time spent preparing/working for/during these activities will be deducted from the time the volunteer is expected to dedicate directly to the Group’s activities.

Perfil: - basic English or Italian communication
- age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: - Weekly involvement in a social skills project with children aged 5 to 15
- Weekly involvement in a literacy skills project with the above mentioned children
- Monthly meeting to prepare such sessions for the children
- Weekly meeting prepared in the best of the volunteers interest to serve as training
- Participation during live-ins (3 weekends per year) and general meetings (basically this is either the annual general meeting or an urgently called gm).
- Assist the organization in a once a year activity against poverty (Preparation for this activity might take months, however this will be included in the morning time spent at the group’s office.)
- Organize stalls for any awareness raising activities the organization might be participating in
- Attend seminars as a organization representative (not more than one per month).
- Assist the group’s volunteers in any maintenance work they might be doing. (At times the volunteers help some social workers with some basic home restoration as part of the process of settling their clients back in community.
- Participate in the group’s outreach exercises.

Condições: Accommodation:
The volunteer will be living independently either in a flat rented by the group or hosted with another volunteer. The EVS volunteer will be expected to live an independent life, in the sense that he or she will be able to travel around the islands with ease and be present for meetings and activities of the group.
