Resumo: Our aim is to reinforce the professional knowledge of volunteers by developing some qualities and abilities which will be useful in their future professional career - especially linguistic, organisational and relational skills - in the rich and diversified surrounding of a cultural organisation dedicated to the youth. In addition, the direct involvement in multicultural activities with young people will help develop their ability to adhere to a project, to work as a team and to supervise groups of young people
Our EVS projects are expected to offer an informal learning experience to the volunteers, giving them a real opportunity to practise and develop their linguistic, organisational and relational skills, and to acquire valuable cultural and social skills.
Working with young people coming from different countries will allow the volunteers to assess the extent of the communication and integration efforts required to unite and supervise groups of young people coming from different European cultures and will provide them with a valuable intercultural learning experience.
The role of EVS volunteers in our organisation:
We expect our EVS projects to make provision for an active involvement of the volunteers in the promotion, organisation and supervision of projects related to youth. The proposed tasks will not be entrusted to the volonteers with the idea of a job substitution or a working load relief for the team in charge of these activities, but with the aim of a profitable "peer collaboration", and more precisely with the prospect of enriching the pedagogical means and initiatives aimed at the youth through the dynamism and the innovative ideas of young people coming from abroad.
Perfil: - motivated and autonomous,
- interest for music and for organisational and relationship tasks, as well as for pedagogical and multi-cultural activities
- aged between 18 and 25.
- good social skills
- no fear of communication with young people,
- should be open to learn and use new languages and to experience intense intercultural exchange,
- basic knowledge in the following languages would be of a certain advantage to the volunteers' activities: French, German and English.
Tarefas: The activities in which the volunteers could be involved and the activities the volunteers could create in our organisation:
- May 2013: "National Youth Wind Orchestra Luxembourg" : working session in France (Haute-Savoie) with concerts in France and in Luxembourg.
- May 2013: “European Competition for Concert Band – Fanfare Orchestra – Brass Band” at the Philharmonie Luxembourg.
- July 2013: "European Youth Wind Orchestra": working session in Luxembourg with concerts in Luxembourg and The Netherlands.
- July 2013: "Semaine Internationale de Musique" à Ettelbruck, organized in the frame of the EU-programme “Youth in Action” with partner groups coming from about six other European countries.
- November 2013: "European Competition for Young Soloists for flute, trumpet and chamber music” at the Music Conservatoire of Luxembourg
In short, the volunteers may be involved in the following tasks related to one or more of these youth related projects:
- promotion and mediatization of the projects,
- communication and collaboration with foreign partners (press, federations, organizers, etc.),
- making arrangements for lodging, rehearsals, concerts, etc,
- elaboration of the daily schedule of the project,
- elaboration of a youth related cultural programme (trips, talks, visits),
- promotion activities to arouse the interest of participants and public,
- ongoing contacts and support to help participants solve any problem before and after the project,
- pedagogical supervision of the young participants to solve any problem,
- favour perfect integration into the group,
- pedagogical assessment of the results of the projects.
During the first weeks, the volunteers will be progressively integrated into the team and into the different activities and branches run by the Music School. After this first integration period, the volunteers will be fully involved in the activities specifically related to the above mentioned projects.
