Resumo: Our main objective of our EVS host project is to promote volunteering among young people with special attention to European awareness and active citizenship;
we'd like to realize a project in which young people can express freely their abilities in terms of solidarity and initiative;
In fact the volunteers will be involved especially in activities connected with youth so that their contribution can be equal and therefore more valued.

Another objective is to consolidate the European sense of belonging and to help local voluntary groups to raise awareness on this issue, stimulating also the curiosity about European Union, its functioning and its history and gathering more information about how some social issues (such as extreme poverty, intercultural dialogue, the disabled, the growth of xenophobia ...) are addressed in Europe.

The volunteers will be involved in these areas: the promotion of youth volunteering, communication and working in the territory alongside the local associations.

The volunteers will be able to achieve these results: increasing social, cultural, intercultural and personal skills and knowledges; contributing to the development and implementation of no profit activities and of the community in general; acquiring, developing and transfering new communication skills (new language, no verbal communication, conflict management ..); opening new perspectives and new thinking, increased awareness of the concept of European citizenship and its role within the community.

The role of EVS volunteer will be cooperate and help at different projects within interior working equipes, made up by professional workers and volunteers, both adults and youngs.

Volunteers will be involved in concrete activities alongside the local volunteers and professionals of the Centre and they will be called to actively and directly participate into the initiatives of program and to verify the progress of project.

In a second phase we will offer to the volunteers the opportunity to create, plan and monitor their own and personal activities, always in accordance with their availability and their interests.

Perfil: - interested in youth animation and volunteerism in the social field,
- who would like to get new skills in working in a group and learning from more experienced professionals.
- no professional or linguistic abilities are requested,
- a bit of Italian may be appreciated,
- ready to learn a new language,
- knowledge of main software, familiar with the web, graphic skills and technical ability in making videos are welcome, but not a key element.
- age: 18 until 30 years old

Tarefas: 1. Projects of promotion voluntary work among young people:

- support the realization of actions promoting active citizenship and the effective participation of young people in the field of voluntarism (workcamps, promotional campaigns);
- taking part in educational projects about culture of solidarity and human rights (workshops in the schools with children, meetings with teenagers and adults);
- support in the realization of events and cultural manifestation (meeting, festivals, voluntary feasts), helping to prepare promotiona materials (cd roms, videos, leaflefts and brochures).

2. Projects related to the field of communication:

- supporting the AVC- CSV' communication area and its press office.

3. Projects of territorial animation:

- according with their interests and profiles, the volunteers will participate together with our local association and volunteers in various local network projects, concerning different issues such creativity of young people, restorative justice, disability, health, fighting against racism, art and culture, environment protection and education rights.
For example, activities for volunteers are: assistance and collaboration with professional educators in a day centers for people with physical and mental disabilities; participation in social and educational activities for people with disabilities such as gardening, animation, music, art therapy, creative workshops, activities in the gym and swimming pool; support in leisure activities for the elderly and connected with intergenerational exchange; activities with foreigners alongside associations that promote social inclusion; participation in intercultural workshops on peace.

4. Personal project:

- at the end of its service, the volunteers have the opportunity to build its own project that refers to one or more areas of the activity followed during the service.

Condições: The volunteer will always receive support from the permanent staff members of our Centre and from the volunteers of the Associations.

They will never have the full responsibility for the implementation of specific projects in order to avoid that tasks turn out to be too demanding for the volunteer.

The volunteers are not expected to replace any of the existing staff employees.

Formação: Volunteers will attend an Italian language course, according to its starting level, which will allow everyone, after the first month, to present himself, his home country and at least to understand and express basic concepts; the lessons will be held by EDA (Organisation for adult education promoted by the Italian Ministry for Public Education); besides learning the language, they have the possibility to take an exam that give them, if passed, an official diploma of Italian as a foreign language.
