Resumo: The organization is a privileged partner of the public administrations and defends the rights and interests of young people on a national and European level. In this context the organization is regularly consulted regarding youth related issues and is seen as a competent discussion partner for the government and other actors in decision-making. The Youth Council coordinates initiatives of the different youth movements and creates working groups on specific topics.

The organization is a non-governmental organisation, lead by an executive board and run by a fulltime staff, made up by three people a secretary and two project officers.
One of the missions of the organization is to increase active participation of young people in society.
The Youth participation, with its two project activities, is aiming at encouraging active participation of young people in many different areas of society. In this context the project aims at the creation of spaces, where young people can voice their opinions, their ideas, perspectives and needs and make them be heard. By using the methods of non-formal education, the project gives young people the possibility to get up and to stand up for their rights and their convictions and to discuss their opinions with political representatives.

The working and living environment

Most of the work is organisational work, so that the volunteer will spend most of its time in the office of the organization.
The office is situated just across the road from the main train station. The volunteer will work in a separate office, with a personal computer at his or her disposal.

Perfil: - aged between 18 and 25 years,
- motivated to learn new languages,
- to develop new ideas and to work on a large variety of different subjects,
- willing to do mainly organisational work at the office,
- flexible working hours,
- able to work as an individual or collaborate in a team,
- have basic language skills in one of the official languages and be motivated to improve her or his language skills rapidly.

Tarefas: The volunteer will be part of the organisational staff and will as a consequence take part in all organisational activities:

- Presence at all planning meetings, write meeting reports
- Participation in the detailed planning of the event (promotion, workshop subjects,
experts to consult, invitation for political representatives, food)
- Promotion and presentation of the event
- Managing the inscriptions (make a detailed listing, badges, participation certificate)
- Regular contact with the project partners, experts, moderators
- Contact with schools, youth centers, youth workers in order to promote the event
- Public relations
- On the day of the event: presence, reception, organisational framework, frames the experts and the youngsters etc.
- Project documentation
- Update of the homepage, articles, evs column
- Evaluation
- Follow-up

Horário: The volunteer will be working 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, 2 days off a week. The volunteer might have to work on the week-ends sometimes. These working hours will be added to his/her leave.

The volunteer will be working 6 hours a day. This includes the duration of the language course.
The working place will be the office of the organization.

The volunteer will be having 30 days of leave. This does not include the official holidays. The exceptional over hours will be added to the leave. The volunteer can take days off in approval with her/his mentor.

Condições: Accommodation

The volunteer will be accommodated in the EVS-house, which is administered by the organization. He or she will be sharing the house with 4 other volunteers from other organisations.
He/She will have own room, but will have to share the bathroom, the kitchen and the living room. The EVS-House in general has good connections to public transport (bus and train).
