Resumo: The School is located on a hill not far away from the center of the town.
The students are taught by a mixed team of younger and experienced teachers with various qualifications and professional experience.
In our opinion learning is not only a cognitive process of accumulation of knowledge but a lively process of exchange and interaction. Therefore we set value on cooperation in learning groups. To develop class communities study trips are inherent part of the learning program.
The teaching contents are not structured by subjects but by operational fields and fields of learning. It's our aim to acquaint our students with current and practice-oriented topics, to motivate them to self-directed learning and to convey them to essential skills and abilities. Therefore a large part of the schooling consists of action-oriented learning situations and educational projects.

Outside the classroom experience is of vital importance for the vocational training, so students can apply under guidance what they learned in the vocational school.

Description of Location
This town is in the district of Ortenau in southwestern Germany, near the district town Offenburg (60.000 inhabitants) and the french town of Strasbourg (270.000 inhabitants). At present has about 11.000 inhabitants.
The town is situated at the foothills of the Black Forest. Due to the privileged climate of the area, wine and fruit has been cultivated here for centuries. The vineyards and orchards lend the countryside an almost Mediterranean feel. The largest part of the community's land, however, is covered by woodlands.
Through the Black-Forest-Railway (Offenburg-Singen) the town is connected to the national railroad network, furthermore there is a well developed suburban train and bus traffic system to touristic centres of the higher Black Forest and to the neighbouring french region of Alsatia.
To ensure regional mobility volunteers get a monthly ticket which is valid for all public transport associations of the administrative district of Offenburg, on weekdays from 14:00 h, during weekend and school holidays the ticket is also valid in the neighbouring administrative districts of Lörrach, Schwarzwald-Baar, Freiburg and Waldshut-Tiengen.
