Resumo: Offener Kanal Magdeburg e. V. is a broadcaster aimed at young people. The volunteer will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of areas. He / she will assist in the production of various programmes and films, particularly in the areas of script, camerawork and cutting. The volunteer will be involved in the recording of live events, such as concerts, theatres, debates, etc., and will also assist in the production of the intercultural youth magazine “Jugendstil” (“Youth Style)”. In addition, the volunteer will have the chance to produce his / her own film. Further areas of activity include general organisational tasks (such as technical work, archiving, programming, etc.) as well as assistance in the presentation of video workshops in schools and youth centres.
Perfil: We are looking for a volunteer with an interest in, and a talent for, media design, culture and journalism. He /She should be creative, should have good communication skills and must be able to work independently, and should also be prepared to get involved with many different people. Ideally, the sending organisation should be active in the areas of media design (video, internet, radio, as we are interested in further co-operation. In this case we could envisage developing a co-operative relationship in relation to other projects as well, which could be achieved partly with the assistance of the volunteer during or after his/her voluntary service. In addition, we provide information for those interested on the web page www.youthnetworks.eu as well as on our homepage (www.ok-magdeburg.de) During the selection process we will examine whether the volunteer’s motivation for the voluntary service and his/her expectations regarding the project are compatible with the aims and practical reality of the hosting project, and develop a mutually agreed-upon outline of duties and resposibilities. Young people who have already taken part in common international youth projects with our partners will be favoured during the selection process.
Tarefas: Work at the „Offene Kanal“ („OK“) is very multifaceted. A volunteer interested in movies and television has great possibilities to incorporate his/her interests. He/She can and should develop and shoot his/ her own motion pictures (movies, documentary or animation). He/She will work together with other young people: Four young employees between 18 and 25 years old work at the “OK”, producing film projects and broadcasts. In addition, the volunteer will have direct contact with pupils and students who are carrying out their projects with the equipment of the “OK”. The volunteer will work in the following areas: - assisting in the production of various broadcasts and movies, particularly in the areas of the storyboard, camera and editing suite and the intercultural youth magazine “Jugendstil” - supporting recordings and live recordings (theatres, concerts, talks/discussions) - supporting users in shooting and editing their own productions - carrying out video workshops in schools and youth centres - assisting in general organisational tasks (providing the equipment, archiving, copying and programming the contributions, updating the electronic domestic news service and the website) - assisting in the preparation and realisation of the youth video prize Saxony-Anhalt, Magdeburg’s local film contest, which is held each October.
