Resumo: The organization is located in the second largest Slovenian city that presents an important centre of culture, sport and education. Its geographical position is also a good starting point for accessing other European countries.
It is a transit city and it offers good traffic connections to other Slovenian and European cities. In the midst of nature it also offers possibilities for sporting activities, a healthy life and an inexpensive way of spending one’s free time. A volunteer will be able to go trekking, hiking and use other sport areas.
The volunteer will actively partake in content suggestions and in the activity of the association and so play an important and responsible role in planned projects.
The volunteer will also help with the Social Eramus project, which is carried out in most organizations sections in the European countries. Within the Social Erasmus programme activities are carried out in 3 fields: environment, charity and education.
All of the above mentioned projects will continue in the years to come. Also, visits to kindergartens with creative workshops are planned.
Perfil: - Age: 18 to 30 years old
- with organisational skills,
- know how to work in a team,
- opened to accept different cultures and flexible,
- he/she will often use the computer and Microsoft Office software at his/her work,
- basic knowledge of English is required,
Tarefas: 1) The volunteer working at the student association will be responsible for the following assignments:
- Helping with administrative work;
- Informing Erasmus students about the programme and integrating them in the new culture and environment;
- Informing Slovenian students about the possibility of an exchange;
- Actively partaking in the preparation and the execution of parties, trips, various cultural and sporting events.
2) The volunteer will also be present at coordination meetings of the association, where he or she will have the possibility to creatively participate, as well as present suggestions for independent projects. When carrying out independent projects he/she will have the rest of the members at his/her disposal (to plan and execute the project) and, if possible, also some financial meant to cover the costs of the project.
3) Activities taking place within the project Social Erasmus are divided in the areas of charity, education and ecology and are as follows:
3.1.) Charity area:
- Erasmus Pets (visiting the shelter and walking dogs with Erasmus students and local citizens);
- Collecting clothes, footwear and various goods for people in need
- Charity raffle within the AGM project
3.2.) Area of education:
- Meet the Native (visiting primary and secondary schools)
The volunteer will visit various primary and secondary schools with his/her mentor and coordinator and introduce his/her country, culture and current experience with travelling and exchange in a geography, history or sociology class. That way he/she will introduce his/her culture, as well as the EVS programme.
3.3.) The area of ecology:
- Making the local community and foreign students aware of the importance of recycling and rubbish sorting.
- Ocistimo Slovenijo (Let's clean up Slovenia)
The organization participates with Erasmus students every year in the project Let's clean up Slovenia. That way young people are made aware about the importance of a clean environment and at the same time introduced to the local environment. The volunteer will organise a cleaning group.
Horário: Monday to Friday, approximately 6-7 hours per day, which weekly sums up to 30-35 working hours, were following by 2 consecutive days off. His/her free time will be organised with the help of the mentor, who will introduce all possibilities of activities in the city centre and its surroundings.
Condições: Food:
The volunteer will be presented different possibilities of nutrition. Either a possible monthly subvention for food will be agreed on with the volunteer or daily warm meals will be arranged in some other way. If need be an account will be set up in a grocery store or daily meals will be set up in a selected restaurant.
Accommodation:
The association will find an apartment for the volunteer and try to comply with all of his/hers wishes.
The volunteer will be situated in the centre of with easy access to his/her workplace. A mentor will help the volunteer with his/her work and look after a complete integration in the new environment. The mentor will also help with the cultural dialogue and offer personal support through the whole period of volunteer work.
Formação: The association will enable an intensive Slovene language course for the volunteer, as well as informal learning of Slovene with the emphasis on conversation and usability of the Slovenian language.
The course is intended to encourage the use of gained knowledge in Slovene. The volunteer will be introduced to intensive courses in Slovene at other organizations and institutes. The lessons in Slovene will take 5 hours per week
