Resumo: All volunteers will be hosted in the capital city of the county. It is a medium sized city located in the North-Western part of the country, 1 hour drive from Hungary in the West and Ukraine in the North. The city has a population of around 140,000 inhabitants including different ethnic and religious minorities: Romanians (82,85%), Hungarians (14,79%), Rroma (5,3%), Ukrainians (0,25%), Germans (0,35%), Jewish (0,04%).

The city was first mentioned in official documents in the year 1329 as a gold mining centre.

Situated in a mountainous region and surrounded by a unique landscape, the small villages around offer a great atmosphere for tourists, as in the county of Maramures traditions are still preserved by the people living in rural areas in the same way their ancestors used to do it. There are many cultural attractions in the area.

Perfil: For the recruitment process for the organization will work closely with the partner organizations ensuring that the project is visible and promoted in the groups of possible beneficiaries from all the participant countries. We will host volunteers aged between 25 and 30, that hold a university degree, preferably with some teaching experience, and will include them in the projects according to their needs and competences. Firstly, the volunteers hosted in our projects should be passionate about education, love working with children, show an open minded attitude towards a different culture and must be fluent in English.

Also, they should be flexible with the activities they take part in and willing to integrate and socialize, as they will work in an international environment. Proven leadership skills are a plus.

There will be no special requirements apart from being positive, energetic, outgoing, communicative; the portrait of the volunteer mentioned above is helpful for orientation but not a strict requirement.

Tarefas: The EVS volunteers’ role will be to assist in and coordinate various activities and educational programmes for children and youth, thus playing an active part in the life or our organisation and of the community as well.

The EVS volunteers hosted in this project will have the option to choose from a range of activities that our organization implements with the help of our qualified team of staff and volunteers. The youngsters will be able to participate in the following projects:
Starting this autumn, we are organising a programme of After School’ / ‘Evening Classes’ in which we are planning to involve two volunteers through EVS for organising and assisting in educational activities such as: English language teaching, practical workshops, arts and crafts, music, dance, drama, etc.

In the following 12 months we are organising various activities for children and youth such as: The European Day of Languages, Halloween, Christmas, Mother’s Day, Earth Day, Easter, Environment Day, Europe’s Day, Kids Day etc The EVS volunteers are open to bring their ideas on how to best organise these activities and play an active part in their conception and implementation.

Apart from the activities and events mentioned above, the volunteers are free to come up with initiatives of their own that could be implemented for the benefit of everybody involved.

The aforementioned activities will help the volunteer gain the following competences:
- finding ideas for and how to organize educational, youth and cultural projects
- using their creativity in projects with and for children
- acquiring a better understanding of the Romanian language and culture
- improving their social, communication and intercultural awareness
- working in international teams

Horário: The volunteer will work 6 hours every day and have 2 days every week free. Also, the youngsters will have a monthly holiday of 2 days. The Romanian lessons will be taught by a professional teacher and will be organized twice a week for one and a half hours.
