Resumo: SPEC Centre and The Loft are situated in the large picturesque grounds of All Saints Pastoral Centre, on the edge of London Colney.

Tarefas: Volunteers will work alongside programme leaders, who are either experienced children or youth workers or qualified teachers. Volunteers will never work alone with children/ young people.

EVS volunteers live on-site and thus make a commitment to live in community with the other staff and volunteers, and to share their journey of discovery with each other; this is an exciting but challenging environment for personal development.

Rules for community living, to promote harmony and good examples for all are (in summary): joining with shared community activities; registering with local health services and maintaining good personal health; no personal telephone calls made to/from the centre office – other telephones are provided; personal use of Centre computers to be in accordance with diocesan policy; smoking discouraged on health grounds and only permitted in designated areas; no excessive drinking; personal guests welcome when schedules permit and accommodation available; no ‘exclusive relationships’ (dating) with other community members during first volunteering year; no personal TVs in bedrooms as Centre licence does not allow this.

Volunteers will have their own individual bedroom.
All meals will be provided through the centre’s canteen, making allowance for personal dietry needs.
