- Excellent team player
- creative skills - means being open to all kind of handicrafts (sewing, drawing, constructing from other materials)
- interest towards healthy cooking
- Some experience with gardening
- willingness to work with children/ youngsters and/or elderly people
- Good working knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign/Premiere)
- good writing skills
- Excellent and Confident communication skills
- good working knowledge of English
- some knowledge or strong desire to learn Hungarian to an intermediate level (your work would need a good knowledge of Hungarian)
Tarefas: - Giving lectures about climate change and other environmental problems, and present possible solutions (for example alternative energy sources) in schools or on any other workshops.
- Working in community gardens: we are planning on opening a community garden and also there is an existing one where volunteers can try out themselves.
- Organising workshops on sustainable city living, like soapmaking, cheesmaking, reuseing garbage and creating useful stuff from that etc. This activity can include researching, communication, or presentation at the workshop as well.
- Spreading information about environmental problems and their solutions, representing Messzelátó in summer festivals.
- Writing blog and articles. As our past volunteers did, the new ones can also have their own blog.
- Updating the green map of Budapest. A past EVS project included the creation of the green map of Budapest which shows the "green" shopping opportunities in Budapest, such as second hand shops, bike shops, vegetarian food etc. Volunteers can be involved in updating and developing the map.
- Organising a roadshow for our interactive Baobab tree: our Baobab tree is a 5,5 m high inflatable installation which used to travel some Eastern European countries. It can only be inflated totally if the holes on its sides are all covered by people's hands. Volunteers can travel with the tree in different cities and talk about climate change.
- Volunteers can work on uploading news to the English homepage of the association.
The volunteers can decide in which activities they want to be involved more deeply and they can devote most of their time to those activities. In addition, besides these tasks the volunteers will have the possibilities to make exhibitions or other cultural programmes (for example they can show their countries and traditions in the local schools). We support these programmes with our personal help and by providing tools and materials to a certain extent. We also provide them with sufficient time - within their work time - to prepare and organise these events.
Volunteers can get to know other nongovernmantal organizations and be the part of an international community was built around Messzelato.
