Resumo: Main activities for children and youngsters in the municipality:
- The municipal music and cultural school.
- Kryptus youth club.
- The municipal library.
- Overhalla sport club see www.overhalla.il.no with activities as football (girls and boys), handball (girls and boys), cross-country ski and swimming.
It will be possible for the volunteers to take part in most of these activies, either as an assistant, leader or as a participant.
Accomodation will be in a small house close to the river and the forest. The volunteers will have separated rooms.

Perfil: A volunteer who is openminded, dynamic, creative, energic, motivated and able to work and communicate with children as well as teenagers.

Someone willing to get involved in the youth work in a small village, interested in sharing cultures through activities in the daily life.

Experience and/or skills in theatre, music, dance, arts, handcrafts, sports... will be very welcome.
Young people who are flexible and want to participate and get integrated in the country and culture.

Tarefas: - The main task of the volunteers will be the youth club, so they will be part of the team and take action in planning and running activities with the responsible of the youth club. The volunteer can bring ideas of his/ her own in creating activities and take the initiative.
- The volunteers will join the workers at the kindergarden and get involved in all the dimensions of its daily life.
- The volunteers will, together with members of the youth club, arrange concerts, small festivals, cooperate with other volunteers in the region in cultural activities and help to promote the youth centres activity.
- Sometimes there will be special events to organize together with the commune, such as Mela-martnan historical festival; the Norwegian youth festival of art (this is a nationwide festival which is arranged in every municiality in Norway. See www.ukm.no for more)...
- The volunteers will have a Norwegian language course and the opportunity to learn more about the Norwegian history, culture and traditions, way of life.

The volunteers will also have meetings with their coordinator to discuss the volunteer's progress and any problems that could have arisen. The volunteer coordinator is also available on a more frequent basis for informal discussions and advice regarding matters arising.

Depending on the activity and programme at the youth club there will sometimes be work on Saturdays or Sundays. If the volunteer works on one of these days he/she will be off work on ordinary working days the following week.

The volunteer will not have to work more than 35 hours a week.
