Resumo: Our organization is located in the Campus of the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona.
One of its aims is to raise awareness about values of solidarity, tolerance, coexistence, freedom and justice among the university community (conformed by over 40,000 people, counting students, professors and administration and service staff).

Therefore, a large part of the volunteering activities will take place in the University Campus, in order to raise the voluntary participation of this community and awareness to this collective on subjects like the underprivileged situation of the developing countries, the environmental problems or the need to promote equality of opportunities in benefit of groups such as people with disabilities or people in penitentiary centers, among other.


On the other hand, the organization develops also to part of its activities of volunteering in organisations and centers of different locations in Barcelona, such as penitentiary centres, hospitals or schools. These activities are planned in collaboration with the professionals who work daily with the beneficiary groups.
The volunteers who collaborate in the activities of our project carried out in places outside the University Campus will move to these locations every day and return to the Campus since they will live at the University Vila.

The volunteer will work in the offices in the Campus, when carrying out management, dissemination and support tasks (and not intervention tasks).

Location of the different EVS activities:

1. Programme for the Assistance of Disabilities
2. Solidarity Space
3. Area for Development Cooperation
4. Health promotion programme
6. Volunteering programmes in the field of justice
7. Volunteering Programme at Hospitals
8. Volunteering Programme at schools

Perfil: - who disagree with social injustice,
- are committed to act and believe that their small participation may improve the situation of certain collectives
- committed people,
- with initiative and team working skills
- language basic skills are an asset.
- A driver's license is an asset in case of candidates working with people with disabilities, as they will have to drive the vehicle (accompanied by someone) in the Campus.

Tarefas: 1. Programme for the Assistance of Disabilities

Main aim of this programme: guarantee equal opportunities of university students with disabilities.

Example of specific tasks of this activity:
- To collaborate with the driver of the vehicle of adapted transport with the daily transports of students with disabilities.
- To support with the organisation and management of the training course Disabilities and Integration, carried out to raise awareness about the subject in the university community
- Conversion of formats to enable access to information: scanning, transcription in Braille writing and sound recordings.

2. Solidarity Space

Volunteers will participate in activities aiming the promotion of voluntary participation of the university community.

Example of specific tasks of this activity:
- Collaborate with the campaign for the dissemination of volunteering programmes carried out at the beginning of the academic year, distributing posters and supporting presentations.
- Support meetings of volunteers of Nostrum, and in evaluation sessions and sessions to recognise the work of volunteers.
- Participate in the training sessions organised by FAS for the university community, supporting its organisation (assistance registrations, logistic support, hosting of speakers)
- Make the EVS known in the web sites of the FAS and other university agents, as well as in other places for student's information (open door sessions, information sessions, Erasmus meetings).

3. Area for Development Cooperation

The aim of this area is to promote action, research and training in the field of development cooperation of the university community of the Universidad Autónoma of Barcelona.

Example of specific tasks of this activity:
- Participate in the training and awareness raising sessions organised by this area for the university community, supporting its organisation (assistance registrations, logistic support, hosting of speakers)
- Support external entities providing awareness campaigns in the Campus.
- Collaborate with activities with the team of volunteers to promote participation and the exchange of experiences.

4. Health promotion programme

Main aim: promotion of healthy life-styles among young people. There are over 40,000 students in the Campus.

Example of specific tasks of this activity:
- Collaborate with local volunteers with the information service El xiringu. Volunteers inform and distribute material among students.
- Support activities related with the International AIDS Day.
- Participate in the training sessions organised by the programme, supporting its organisation (assistance registrations, logistic support, hosting of speakers)

6. Volunteering programmes in the field of justice

Programme in collaboration with the regional government to manage a wider offer of activities for prisoners (academic support and social and cultural activities).

Example of specific tasks of this activity:
- Support planning and carrying out academic support for people in jails.
- Support activities for the dissemination of the EVS and so encourage participation of the university community.
- Collaborate with activities with the team of volunteers to promote participation and the exchange of experiences.

7. Volunteering Programme at Hospitals

The aim is to make like of people in hospital and their family easier. A team of local volunteers coordinated by a staff member carry out activities in different centres.

Example of specific tasks of this activity:
- Collaborate with ambulant toy libraries for children in hospitals
- Support planned activities to promote individual, close treatments, favouring the recovery of users.
- Collaborate with activities with the team of volunteers to promote participation and the exchange of experiences.

8. Volunteering Programme at schools

Aim: promote social cohesion through intercultural education and consolidate Catalonian as regular language, to guarantee equal opportunities.

Example of specific tasks of this activity:
- Support accompaniment of groups of students in extra-curricular outings (library, radio,...) Support planning and implementation of study workshops
- Support activities for the dissemination of the EVS and so encourage participation of the university community.
- Collaborate with activities with the team of volunteers to promote participation and the exchange of experiences.
