Resumo: The Daycare center is situated in district of Kaunas named Palemonas. After regaining back state independancy, huge ceramic factory in Palemonas were closed, causing huge unemployment rates and no alternative to keep high economical level. People, who had opportunity, moved to the center exchanging the accomodation with poor people, mostly having alcohol problems, therefore there's a big concentration of multi-problematical families in the district at the moment. Palemonas district has poor public transport connection to Kaunas, therefore inhabitants of Palemonas have less opportunities to be integrated to Kaunas society physically.

Prevailing difficulties of Palemonas are unemployment, poor economical situation, poor hygiene conditions, lack of constructive leisure time offers. Children living in the distric usually see negative parents behaviour: abusing aclohol, conflicts, agression towards other family members. Children suffer poverty, violence, neglect, too few possibilities to spend their leisure time purposefully, therefore it's hard to integrate to school community or public, often children are absent at school, involved in criminal act or abuse of alcohol.

The objective of of Palemonas Children Daycare Center program is the integration of the children into society by infuencing all three levels of their personality: physical, psychological and spiritual. As an educational method the sisters are using Preventive Children and Youth Education System created by St. Son Bosco, described by three pricipals:
1. Reason, which expresses itself as reasonableness and flexibility in rules and requests;
2. Religion, which helps people to find meaning in their life and to develop a sense of the presence of God in person;
3. Loving kindness, where young people know that they are loved and are thus helped to develop their full potential.

Perfil: We accept all volunteers, regardless their background or other features. Eventhough it is crucial to love children and be willing to work with children from social risk environment. It is also preferable that the volunteer wouldn't have any harmful habits or addictions, which would influence nurturing of the kids.

Tarefas: Proposed activities:
Volunteers' role at "Palemonas Daycare center" is worker's assistant. Volunteers learn how to work with children of social risk environment, though they will never get the final responsibility for the children and there'll always be worker to assist in difficult situations. Volunteers help to organise different activities for children, assist in teaching children social skills.
Volunteers main task at Palemonas Daycare center:
- to organize different workshops for children (according to their skills) – sport, vreative, educational activities;
- to teach children to use computer programs;
- to help children to do their homework;
- to teach children english or other foreign language;
- to organize festivals, excursions, summer camps;
- to implement their own ideas, collaborate with other organisations and volunteers.

Horário: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
11.00-12.00 Preparing equipment for the day, welcoming children.
12.00-13.30 Assistance the children in doing homework.
13.30-14.30 Preparation for the lunch – volunteers together with the nuns and the children prepare the meals, and serve it to the table.
14.30-15.00 Having lunch with the children
15.00-17.00 Different workshops (art, sports) assisted or done by volunteers.
17.00-17.30 Tidy up together with the children (arranging all the toys, cleaning of the rooms etc.)
