Resumo: Our project is taking place mostly in Leszno and Wschowa area. Distance between those two towns is 20 km. Leszno received its municipal rights in 1547. In its heyday in early 17th century Leszno was a town with great cultural, economic and intellectual potential. At present the population of Leszno is approximately 63 000 and it is still a town of tolerance and openness just like centuries ago. However, despite the big amount of schools and numerous cultural centres there is still poor variety of artistic activities such as concerts or theater performances. Similar situation is in Wschowa. This town is smaller than Leszno. Population there is approximately 14 500. The name Veschow (Wschowa) was first used in 1248, while the name Frowenstat Civitas (Fraustadt) was first mentioned in 1290. After the Silesian Piasts had accepted Bohemian suzerainty, King Casimir III the Great in 1343 finally conquered it for Poland. Wschowa then became part of the Poznañ Voivodeship. Wschowa and its Latin school was one of the centres of the Protestant Reformation in Poland and a retreat for religious refugees in the days of the Counter-Reformation in adjacent Habsburg Silesia. Because of good bus connection - all volunteers will stay in Leszno (to have acces to restaurants, pubs, discos, cinema, etc)
By our action we would like to convince the local society that cultural events can both develop sensitivity and unite different groups of people. This idea stems in a way from social exclusion

which is the main topic of the year 2010. The office of the host foundation is located in Comprehensive High School No. 2 in Leszno - 20 min by walk from the centre of Leszno. Due to the fact that the office is quite small - only two people can work there in the same time. Our office is open 2 days in a week - on Wenesdays and Fridays. Rest of the week we work online and outside the office (meetings with youngsters in a place which they propose, also due to specific of our work and people involved - we organise meetings with volunteers and governing board in a different places to integrate us as much as possible and make better brainstorming. We wish to invite our volunteers to work in those two days in the office (if there is a need - more) apart of that to support our local activities which we organise and help with some international activities on which we are sending participants and hosting. It would be also nice if volunteers would be ready to set up their own project here.
However, very important project environment for the suggested voluntary activities will be Comprehensive High School No. 2 in Leszno which was established in 1967. Mostly our volunteers and participants are from that school (actual students and ex students)

Thanks to its teaching staff, High School No.2 assures a high level of education. Over 98% of our graduates are accepted to those College/Universities which they have chosen. Our school prepares its students for foreign language certificates such as: FCE and ZD and, thanks to several extra curricular programmes offered by the school the expansion of knowledge and development of interests is possible. Some of these programs are led by employees of institutions of higher education as well as reporters/journalists from local media outlets that the school works in cooperation with. Students and teachers of Copernicus work together to organize educational sessions and debates for the local community as well as concerts, poetry gatherings and student balls. The school volunteer program, lend-a-hand, and a career planning centre both operate out of Copernicus. High School No.2 also offers 2 modern computer labs. Thanks to friendly atmosphere and professional security, our students feel safe at school. For many years our students have held high positions in several competitions and academic olympics.

What is more, in this academic year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme has been available for our students. This is a challenging two-year curriculum, primarily aimed at students aged 16 to 19. It leads to a qualification that is widely recognized by the world's leading universities. Students in this program learn more than a collection of facts. They become more creative and independent than their peers. Bear in mind the fact that they are taught all the subjects in English, thus native speakers of that language could greatly contribute in different workshops and classes. The students of our High School have many ideas and very often they take the initiative. However teachers not always can support all of these ideas because of the lack of time. Hence full-time coaching would be in demand. The volunteer with predispositions mentioned hereunder would find his/her niche as this kind of coach.

Perfil: We would like to welcome a volunteer in the age between 18 - 30 y.o. with as much artistic as realistic soul, who is enthusiastic and keen to do a lot of different activities, who would like to either teach teenagers important things about dance, music, theatre and/or acting or, help with creating/editing webside of our partners institutions and our NGO. We plan that the volunteer to his/her advantage will learn many things about Polish culture and language. We need a person who would like to share with kids, and youth what is youth in action and what kind of europan programmes they can use in their lifes. That person should like working with children and teenagers and have communicative command of English language.

Our volunteer can also be an amateur drama act writer or webside designer. We would like to cooperate with the similar kind of organizations who are interested in art, computer science or theatre - it will be easier to connect if the foreign organization has the same aims - yet it is not necessary.

The information about available placements together with selection criterias will be published on our website and sent to all our international and local partners, as well as to networks of non-governmental, youth organizations. We will ask candidates to fill our questionnaire and we will stay in contact with the sending organisation The sending organizations in cooperation with us will provide a first dialogue and selection of the volunteers on the basis of their personal motivations and attitudes. Information about selection of the volunteers will be published on the host and sending organization websites and every volunteer who have applied for the project will be informed about the results and conditions that determined the choice of the volunteers.

Candidates may send their applications to Centre for Creative Activity and also directly to EVS coordinator. Applications should contain information about the person, his or her motivation to do EVS and to volunteer in the particular project, his or her educational and professional backgrounds, as well as information about the preferential time and length of the service.

Selected candidates will be contacted in order to receive further information about the applicant and to explain details about our organisation and the available acivities in Centre for Creative Activity.

Tarefas: - leading different workshops for kids and youth during winter camp,
- leading activities , animating free time for local kids youth, possibly also adults.
- leading and organizing leader camp for youngsters, presentations in English in local schools, institutions

Condições: • The Organization provides language courses one hour a week during all project.. Volunteer has the right to resign without any consequences.
• For your transport you will receive a bike to move through the city. You will also use the trains and buses here . All the travels connected with the project are reimbursed.
• 10% of your total travel costs are for your own costs. 90% will be reimbursed in the first month of your staying in Leszno
• It is very wise to save some money before coming to Leszno. The pocket and food money is decent for EVS, but won’t leave you a lot of space to explore Poland. If you really want to enjoy your EVS, explore the country and meet up with other EVS volunteers in other cities we would highly recommend to have some other resources then the basic EVS allowances. The other fact for this advice is that your insurance on EVS is not paying for any healthcare in advance as long as you are not administered in the hospital. This means in practice that you have to pay in advance for your healthcare and have to wait weeks before AXA is reimbursing the money to your bank account.
• At the moment of applying you must have a sending organization
