Resumo: The project is a response to a strongly present interest in and a
need to facilitate access to European culture in general, especially for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. The project is a need to facilitate the ‘’Europaen Corner’’ held by YIC.

The project also directly aims at enlarging the scope of knowledge of the local youth on European citizenship, get them to know other cultures, to understand that whatever is different is not necessarily wrong but rather a new field of knowledge one should acquire.

The project will actively involve the local youth in creating their own future and building their personal life and the life of the community they live in. Finally, the project aims at developing the organizational skills, share their experience and give practical advice on helping them to develop their own EVS
projects by means of establishing long-term cooperation with the EU partners.

The project will also form part of a wider campaign aimed at promoting youth activity and volunteerism in Armenia.

Tarefas: - The volunteers will be part of the YIC team.
- The volunteers will carry out various activities to bring the
culture of their countries closer,
- Apart from the European corner, the volunteers will also be involved at local secondary schools and universities where they will have a chance to directly interact with the local
students,
- Additionally, as part of the program open to the public and within the volunteers promotion event the volunteers will be encouraged to work with other EVS volunteers in Armenia (and especially in the Shirak region) to prepare National Day events fostering cultural exchange and informing about Europe
and their regions and its culture as well as adding to the quality and diversity of public events in both towns
of their residence.

Horário: The weekly schedule of the volunteers will be flexible. On average, the volunteers will work about 6-7 hours per day, five days a week.

The volunteers will have two days off every month. Days free from work: national and church holidays.

The hosting organization will be flexible regarding the needs of the volunteer to have free time, but it will also expect that the volunteer will be flexible regarding the working time.

Condições: The volunteer will have access to means of communication (internet, which will be either provided at the office or refunded to the volunteers, and local and international phone connection, which will be partly covered as well.)

The accommodation, food and local transport will be arranged by the hosting organization. The first month the volunteers will be living with the host families, where they will be provided by food and all necessary things for living.

The volunteers will live in EVS house rented.
