Perfil: What we expect from a volunteer From our experience with past volunteers we noticed that it is a great advantage when the volunteer has at least basic knowledge of German. It makes it easier for the volunteer to both communicate with other people as well as accomplish tasks. Furthermore, the volunteer should have basic knowledge in the usual computer applications, such as Word, Excel, Internet and Email. We expect the volunteer to work independently, but also be a good team player. Because of the cultural and political focus of our work we also recommend that the volunteer is interested in culture and politics. We also appreciate it if our volunteers are open-minded, sociable, communicative, eager to learn and not afraid of making mistakes. If all the above requirements are matched, cooperation between the us and the volunteer will be much easier and problems can be prevented. We would appreciate it if interested persons contact us prior to their application so that we can get to know each other a bit better, answer questions and clear up possible misunderstandings.
Tarefas: organisation of cultural events: We organise a number of cultural events in order to enrich cultural life in Wurzen. In cooperation with a variety of partners (other institutions as well as In their tasks the volunteers are supported by our office team. During the first months of their EVS, the volunteers acquaint themselves with the our programme and are already entrusted with various different tasks. Gradually, the volunteer will organise and realise events independently. The volunteer will, therefore, will be taught how to use technical equipment so that they have the skills necessary to show films, organise events and support other people with less technical knowledge. - Keeping record of our projects (Media projects / Films) For the us it is very important to keep record of all our projects and activities. It is the volunteer's task to keep these records up to date. They will edit the material (photos, videos) and upload them to the our homepage. The volunteer will also be in charge of the Our profile on the internet platform MySpace. Moreover they work with computer programmes Linux, Adobe Premiere and Scribus. - EVS information / Europe-related events: As you may know, young people, on the brink of graduation, do not always know exactly what they want to do in the future. Thus, taking part in the European Voluntary Services poses a good opportunity for them to get some work experience and to find out what suits them and what they do not like. Therefore, the we introduces EVS, its opportunities and conditions, to young people in our region. It is the volunteer's task to plan and organise these events in close cooperation with other volunteers, the our office team and schools. Furthermore, we expect the volunteer to organise an event in which their home country, its special customs and habits are introduced to the people in our region. Individual tasks: Since the we work is based on projects from various fields of interest, we strongly encourage the volunteers
