Resumo: URGENT: Looking for ONE possibly female VOLUNTEER for an APPROVED PROJECT. She or he will share the project with one French and 2 Mexican volunteers.

Volunteers will be hosted by the Cooperative “Panta Rei”, one of the best center for environmental education in Italy. The center have been made up with local and home made materials (home made bricks e.g.) and is almost totally self sustainable: the clients and staff recycle almost everything and use as less energy as possible.

The 4 volunteers will live there and they will be totally involved in the activities of the center, in its phylosofy, both on professional and personal level. They will live in a frugal (but wonderful) house inside the farm, together with a member of the staff.

Perfil: 1- in the work:
a)be prepared to work in the fields every day for a lot of hours and to take part in a large variety of works, that include humble works
b)have a really strong spirit of adaptation, to be open to the requests and the working hours asked, but at the same time having strength to decided the task your able to do,
c)work with a not balanced working time schedule (i.e work a lot in a period of the year and not so much in an other, work sometimes in the week end and have free time the other days of the week),
d)have a fragmented time schedule even in the same day .
e)be open to understand the learning style applied in Panta Rei (learning by doing) Learning by doing or Procedural Knowledge:

Procedural knowledge, also known as imperative knowledge, is the knowledge exercised in the performance of some task. (from Wikipedia) Panta Rei applies the learning-by-doing, that means that the voluntary will be asked to help in a lot of different manual works, sometimes without the explication of the final objective of their work.

Tarefas: - Support operators who work in activities of biological agriculture (vegetable and fruit garden and olive grove), and the vegetable garden, working with them for most of the day.
- Help operators to create and use row bricks and straw as natural material for building: ground examination, mixture preparation (different for each case, and made thanks to appropriate machines) and enactment.
- Moreover, maintenance of the Centre: is item of information and training activities regarding green building products, their use and their characteristics; cleaning the two structures (dormitory; living and working area) reparation of the structure and surrounding, cooking or helping the staff of Panta Rei in cooking every day.
- Build up with ecological materials new ecological paths in the forest.
- Help with the organization of parties and fairs exhibitions (helping in the kitchen and others services), in the village, to spread activities linked to environmental sustainable progress.
- Pick up olives from the 5.000 olives trees, property of Panta Rei.
- There is also the possibility to support operators to lead didactic laboratories (visits, stays and summer camps) dedicated to young, children and families, if the Italian language level of the voluntaries allow it
