Resumo: -The fist Waldorf school was established in 1919 in Stuttgart. Rudolf Stainer was not only an author of idea and a head of school but also a founder of special pedagogical system, therapeutic pedagogic and medicine, and a whole spiritual school. The main idea of Waldorf pedagogical system is that childhood is a unique period in a human life: it’s impossible to consider this age the same as elder one. It’s very important to give a child an opportunity of development in natural way, according to the age and abilities.
Nowadays there are 30 Waldorf Secondary Schools and 60 Waldorf Kindergarten in Russia.
12 years ago one small group for little children was established on the basis of Samara Waldorf Secondary School. There are 40 children 2,8 - 6,5 years old in the Kindergarten at the moment. All of them are brought up in atmosphere of joy, music, songs, theatre, tails, and festivals, warmed with love and care.
Voluntary services provided by a volunteer will contribute much to the creation of an atmosphere of love for children’s development.
Perfil: - Age 18-30
- Motivation and desire to work with children, strong communication skills, power of observation, responsibility.
- It is obligatory for volunteer to have creative abilities (e.g.: toy-making, knitting, crocheting, modelling, etc.)
- Previous experience in working with children is welcomed.
- applicant should have a good command of Russian.
Tarefas: The EVS volunteer is supposed to participate in everyday activities of Waldorf Kindergarten, including:
- Mainly assistance to the staff in everyday work which includes washing the dishes, cleaning up the rooms, making up children’s beds, assisting to children during meals, dressing up children, etc. Sometimes work may include playing games, toy-making, reading, painting, music, modelling, theatre, etc.
Tentative time schedule:
Monday–Friday 5-hours working day (time will be corrected as one goes) Saturday - Sunday days off.
A typical day of the volunteer can be described as follow: 8.30–9.00–assistance in children’s meeting
9.00–11.10– assistance to the staff which may include washing the dishes, cleaning up the rooms, making up children’s beds, assisting to children during meals, dressing up children, etc. 11.10–12.30–walk with children
12.30–13.10–preparation for lunch, lunch
13.10–15.10–assistance to the staff, which may include preparation for fairy-tail reading, theatrical performance, watering the flowers, clearing a room, etc.
