Resumo: The project is an afterschool center.
It provides hot meals, homework support and a variety of extracurricular activities to disadvantaged schoolchildren from the local community.
The children have been identified by the community’s social worker as having social disadvantages, such as poverty or learning difficulties and as being at risk for school dropout.
The project aims to awaken a genuine love of learning by offering children, fun, creative, non-formal opportunities for self-expression and thematic learning. In the summertime, young people from the community are given the opportunity to become involved in a summer club called “T.I.P.” (Clever Kids of Panatau Club), and are facilitated to self-organize constructive uses of free time, such as dances, educational film screening, ecological activities, artistic activities, hiking, etc.
