Resumo: The Group EVS project entitled “«Intercultural Learning with Youth and Children in Need” will be implemented from the association Beyond Barriers in Tirana, Albania for a period of 3 months, starting in 1 August 2012 and ending in 31 October 2012, with the participation of 3 volunteers from Portugal. Volunteers will work with children with disabilities in Tirana, and in promotion of inclusion through volunteering in high schools. As well as they will have time to work in the other activities in the office of BBA. The aim of this project is to promote inclusion of young people with disabilities, promote volunteering as an added value to today’s society and the life of youngster and exchange information with young people. Also in a wider sense contributing to the development of youth participation, exchange of information and especially inclusion growth through offering possibilities of participation for youngsters with fewer opportunities.
Objectives:
• Raising awareness towards inclusion of youngsters with fewer opportunities, with special focus on disability
• Promote volunteerism as a booster for our under development society
• Improve quality of information exchange through peer education, outdoor activities, & the use of social media networks.
• Promote NFE approach, YiA and its priorities among Albanian youngster oh high schools, where info hardly reaches them
• Share best practices among local & international volunteers and make them public by use of social media networks.
These objective are in line with participation of young people, Inclusion, fighting against poverty and marginalization, as well as the use of sports to promote inclusion, healthy lifestyle and active participation. The children & youngsters whom will profit out of this project are those who mostly need our support.
Tarefas: The main activities that the EVS volunteers will carry out during the project are:
- Assisting and social animating for children with learning difficulties (special focus on disabled children)
- physical education or sports, English language workshops, social integration,
- artistic expression (painting, handicraft, singing, dance, etc), excursions with disabled and other young people (local volunteers).
- Promoting Volunteering among youngsters in Albania, through EVS experience and YiA program, as strong tools and positive testimonials.
- Preparing and issuing the Newsletter of the association and updating the website plus the Blog space of the EVS volunteers
- attending the running projects of BBA and assisting in preparation of events and activities
The volunteer tasks will be revised upon volunteer arrival according to the current activities of the organization and motivation and abilities of the volunteer. Upon the arrival EVS volunteers shall participate in the ON ARRIVAL TRAINING organized by SALTO _SEE in Sarajevo, that is for all the EVS in the Balkan region with all costs covered by Salto-SEE.
As well they will be receiving on task related training on how to realize animation activities for children, how to use different games and animation tools, also during the EVS project volunteer will participate to the meetings organized for the staff and local leaders.
Horário: The volunteers will work 5 hours a day with 2 days off per week. National holidays (host country's holidays) are days off. In addition, the volunteer will have 2 holiday days per each month of volunteering to be taken in agreement with the host organization.

Formação: Training cycle
The training cycle of the volunteers will be carried out in collaboration and with the facilitation of SOHO. Sending organisations will be responsible to prepare the volunteer before the project and make sure that they attend the pre departure training to be organised from their structures of the National Agencies.
Upon acceptance of the project and arrival date of the volunteer in the HO, the HO will take care to get informed about the dates and the venue of the On arrival training which in the SEE are organised from SALTO recourse centre SEE. Beyond Barriers will be responsible to facilitate the attendance of the 4 volunteers to the On arrival and the Mid-Term evaluation (both organised from SALTO SEE and usually taking place in BiH and Serbia).
All costs related this training cycle are met by SALTO - SEE and volunteers will get reimbursed during the activity. A final evaluation meeting will be done in the association with the 4 EVS volunteers and the staff who worked with the during the period of 10 months. As well we will assure that the SO takes evaluation process upon arrival of the volunteers back in their countries.
