Resumo: Project environment

The city we live is Lodz.
Lodz is the third largest city in Poland, it is located in the centre part of our country.
There is a airport, railway stations and bus stations nearby the city centre.
Lodz is one of the most important cultural and academic centers in Poland. Nineteenth-century, the powerful industrial metropolis, today again is the fastest growing city in the country.

Lodz is primarily a city of festivals. The largest of these include the Festival of Dialogue of Four Cultures, Lodz Biennale and Camerimage. It is also worth to mention such international events as the Explorers Festival, Festival of Photography and Comics Festival. Despite the large number of cycles of cultural events taking place every year there are more, mainly in the fields of film, contemporary art and music. City, not without reason, referred to as "Holly£ódŸ, becasue it's a one of the bigest film centers in Europe with famous Lodz Film School.

It's recommend to visit places like Manufaktura or Piotrkowska street.

Manufaktura - cultural and entertainment complex - place made for people who like shopping and spend night on amusement. There are 306 boutiques, restaurants, coffee houses, pubs and clubs. There are also 15 cinema halls with one 3D IMAX screen.
Piotrkowska street - with all the crossing it streets is one of the most famous street in our city with a lot of pubs, beer gardens, shops, fashion stores, cinemas, theatres, philharmonic, art galleries and museums.

The FERSO Foundation has two offices in the centre of the city - one of them is especially for EVS volunteers. Both places are equipped with computer hardware and the Internet. It enables to provide a place to work for both, FERSO employees and volunteers that take part in projects. It is also a place of meetings with the youth.
