Resumo: At the present moment, from the point of view of the infrastructure, the organisation has an office headquarter completely equipped to support volunteering activities for youths with reduced opportunities. In the past, there were other persons with reduced opportunities who worked or carried out their activities in this headquarter (youths pertaining to national minorities, youths from the countryside, blind persons, youths with motor function problems or with minor psychiatric disabilities). Even so, the association does not have the personnel or equipment necessary for the carrying out in good conditions of the activity of persons with severe motor function problems.
Regarding the experience of the members and volunteers of the association working with youths with reduced opportunities we can say that the majority (80%) of them have already worked with this category of youths, either in teams formed on the occasion of implemented projects, or by coordinating and supporting them in volunteering activities. Moreover, within the team there are persons who can deal directly with youths with sight deficiencies (2 persons have a working experience with them), with youths wit hearing deficiencies (a person who knows sign language and a speech therapist), with youths with motor function problems (2 experienced persons) and with youths belonging to ethnic minorities (at least 6 experienced persons).
Also, the association has many human resources available to support the activity of youths with reduced opportunities: 4 mentors, 1 coach, 3 psychologists, 2 psychotherapists and 1 speech therapist. Even so, all the need that might appear will be contracted or assured by the association in its quality as a host association.
Tarefas: The learning opportunities that the volunteer will experience in his/her EVS program will be multiple and of different complexities. These are: training sessions (on different topics requested by the volunteer or required by the working context), session meant to get to know the city (treasure hunt and assisted visits), Romanian lessons, team work session (within group activities, benefitting from a dynamic, young and passionate team), independent or assisted coordination of different activities, projects and programmes, mentoring and coaching sessions (which will help the volunteer to clarify his/her objectives and the way in which they could be reached), self-development books (from the organization’s library), participation to conferences, registration at the libraries and cultural centers in the city (at the request of the volunteer), forming sessions in fundraising and project management (periodically organized by the association for all volunteers), free registration of the volunteer in different community social services (according to the volunteer’s choice: fitness, pool, tennis, cycling, climbing etc.), constant feedback from the project manager, teaching responsibility through leadership (at first he/she will have an apprentice, and along the way the leader position will be offered to him/her in different activities and projects), public speaking (he/she will participate in public presentations on different subjects related to his/her activity), improvement of his/her abilities in working in a team with people from a different culture, improvement of his/her level of tolerance and understanding, learning at least one foreign language, and getting information about another culture, improvement of his/her knowledge about European opportunities in the field of youths and many more.
The roles that an EVS volunteer will have within the organisation are multiple and diverse. They will differ according to the job description that his/her application will be sent for. Even so, the volunteers will work in ...
