In order to achieve its objectives, Foyer la Baraudelle employs almost 50 workers in four different departments: administrative department, personal support department, medical and paramedical department, general department.

Foyer La Baraudelle is located in a small town in the Ardennes department in the middle of the main cities of the area: 15 km from Vouziers; 19 km from Rethel; 40 km from Charleville-Mézières. The nearest trainstation is in Rethel.
Ardennes is a French department located in the North-Eastern part of France, close to the Belgian border. This region can be considered like rural department, gaining wealth from agriculture, forestry and old industries (like steal industry, subcontracting car industry…).
Foyer La Baraudelle has got accomodations, activities and medical care rooms and also a pedagogical farm. Considering this and the geographical location of the Foyer, it is important that the future volunteers love Nature and love living close to Nature and animals. If so, volunteers will really enjoy to commit themselves in the activities of the pedagogical farm and they will love to discover the natural diversity of region.

Perfil: It appears necessary that the future volunteer gets and wants to develop human qualities as sense of listening, patience and aptitudes to communicate.

They also will have to want to share and exchange, want to help other people, be ready to overcome some gestures of the everyday life. A minimum of initiative sense will also be required.

An essential skill will be knowledge in French and, most of all, that he shows the willing to express himself in French during his voluntary service.

The chosen volunteers will have to wish living in a rural region and it will be better if they like nature and want to discover nature heritage and animals.

Tarefas: Role of the volunteers

The volunteer will support the staff in in the implementation of the different activites. However the main role of the volunteer will be to offer a special hear to the residents. Indeed the volunteers will enable a better individual support and care of the residents as well as an accompaniement different than the one provide by the institution. The host of the volunteers has to be consiered in a wider citizen approach that aims to work in the inclusion of the residents in the local community life.
Hosting European volunteers opens to other cultures. Indeed residents have rarely the opportunity to meet people living in different countries. That enable also to get them focus on this diversity.

Volunteers activities
