Resumo: Andaina is a private school with public subsidy, managed by a teaching cooperative, which provided infant, primary and secondary education. Basic guidelines of the centre:
• Team work, sharing agreed (by consensus) pedagogical criteria which favour the comprehensive education of children and creating a coherent educational project with the earlier ages.
• Participation of the families, understanding education as a common task. Family and school collaborate to permanently improve the common educational project.
• Open, connected to the outside and collaborating and acting in it.
• Attention to diversity, understood as richness. Each child occupies his/her place in the learning process and differences promote collective enrichment.
• Multicultural and pluri-lingual education, open to multiple visions of the world and promoting the creation of awareness of European identity.
The school is located in the city of A Coruña. Population: 243,349 inhabitants (396,015 with the metropolitan area). Its urban area is the second biggest one in the whole region after Vigo and its has the highest density (6.600 Hab/Km2). The urban growth has made agrarian and industrial activities migrate to bordering towns. The service sector is the most important one in the city, being A Coruña the economic and cultural centre of the limiting metropolitan area and taking the role of a regional metropoli.
Volunteers will not be hosted with the beneficiaries. They will live in flats shared with other volunteers.

Tarefas: • Volunteers have the opportunity of learning many things related with education and children and youth entertainment. According to their concerns, motivation, experiences and skills, they may participate in educational experiences with different ages (from 2 to 16 years old) in many different fields (formal and non-formal education, science, arts, techniques, sports,...). They have the occasion of actively participating in activities in the mentioned fields and acquire and consolidate values from the teaching staff in the centre: work co-responsibility, team work, perception of diversity of opinions from a positive point of view and as a help to advance... • Volunteers will support the different class projects and school activities, and may participate with the teachers responsible for each field in the design and implementation of the activities which most adapt to their interests, expectations and profile. We intend to have an active participation and full integration in the working teams in which they participate. • Specific learning: volunteers will acquire specific knowledge, abilities and strategies according to the fields in which they participate: age of target group, knowledge areas, type of activities,...

Condições: Knowledge of Spanish. -Interest in teaching and education.
