Resumo: The project promotes active citizenship on the field of art and culture. The volunteers will participate in cultural production and get experiences of being an active member of the cultural production team. During the first week, the volunteers will stay in Kuorevesi which is a small and peaceful village in the middle of Finland. In Kuorevesi, a local youth association and a theatre group will host the group, and the volunteers will assist the locals in all preparations of their theatre production. After the first week, the volunteers will travel 100 km from Kuorevesi to Tampere to assist local empolyees and volunteers in international folk dance festival “Tanssipidot”.

The cultural producing includes eg. stage design, guidance, decoration, selling tickets and so on. The project contributes cultural dialogue between Finnish people and the volunteers but also supports young people active citizenchip in the society. The project is very practical and all the volunteers will learn by doing in all volunteering tasks. The volunteers will understand and learn more about cultural production, team work and volunteering in international environment.

The duration of the project is 22 days and it will be held 1.-22.6.2012. The partners in the project are ProAtlântico - Associação Juvenil from Portugal, OPEN SPACE Foundation from Bulgaria and Magyar Önkéntesküldõ from Hungary. Nine volunteers will be included in the project, three volunteers from each country.

Perfil: The volunteers are:

- 18-25 years old
- having geographical, social or economic obstacles
- interested in cultural activities or production
- open-minded and flexible
- interested in Finnish culture
- able to communicate in English

The volunteers have not been selected yet but all the volunteers have fewer opportunities to get international experiences because of geographical, social or economic obstacles.
