Resumo: Project environment:
The voluntary activities will take place at Gimle, which is a music venue, cultural café and student house. Gimle is located in Roskilde, a city with about 60.000 inhabitants. Roskilde is famous for the annual rock festival “Roskilde Festival”, and is nearby Copenhagen.

The voluntary activities will take place at a music venue and cultural café along side with other volunteers, both local and international, and the staff. Gimle is a very active house, with about 50 volunteers to run the many activities. There are many volunteers every day and therefore a great social life. The local volunteers are mainly between 18 and 26 years old.
The EVS volunteers daily activities are to bartend, help cooking, sell tickets, and help run the cultural café. Here there is small concerts, debates, workshops and many other activities that the EVS volunteers help arrange and run. They also have shifts on the big music venue (capacity for up to 550 guests) where they are stagehands, bartenders, or work in the entrance.

The volunteers arrange many activities at Gimle and there is a great opportunity to get experience with event planning, evolve ones creativity or ability to be in charge of events. As an EVS volunteer one can work with sound engineering, concert booking, making activities in the café such as international café evenings, children’s café and so on. The staff at Gimle has many years of experience with organizing events and concerts and therefore help create a good environment for creative evolvement.

Up to now there have been four EVS volunteers at the same time, who live together in a house which is 5 minutes away from Gimle by bike. Gimle provides bikes and the well-being of the house. Our aim is to host five EVS volunteers in the future, so there is more time for personal projects beside the main project which is to run the cultural café.

Boserup school in Denmark is looking for creative, active and energetic volunteers to help in maintaining and running the School! :)
Volunteer is hired by the School on the working conditions equivalent to a regular employee.
The Volunteer is paid 3000 dkk per month and provided with free food and lodging by the School!!!
It is possible for the Volunteer to socialize with the staff at the School and take part in cultural events that the School will arrange, e.g. music, theatre and sports.

The Volunteer will also have the possibility to go on excursions the School will arrange to different parts of Denmark or Europe.

Perfil: At Gimle we seek EVS volunteers aged between 18 and 26 years, as it is in this age group the other volunteers at Gimle is.

It is easier for EVS volunteers to be part of the community if they are the same age.

Additionally, it is necessary that our EVS volunteers are open-minded people who like culture, bartending, cooking, music and social life.

Tarefas: In terms of service and learning opportunities, Gimle has many things to offer. Cultural awareness, insight in the live-music business, improvement of language skills (both in using English on an everyday level, and by going to langauge school learning Danish), education in hygienic control and care concerning sale of food and drinks, meeting and learning about other European cultures, challenging and evolving social skills and much more.

The role of the EVS volunteer is to be part of the volunteer team at Gimle. The main task will be to help run the cultural café on an everyday basis and through that work, contribute to the cultural life at Gimle and Roskilde. The EVS volunteers makes a personal project where he or she in their own way contribute to the cultural activities of Gimle. Examples of personal projects could be event planning, sound engineering, running a café blog, concert photography and so on.

The EVS volunteer can be involved in many things. Besides taking part in the every day life in the café, where they make advanced coffee, cook and serve food, bartend, sell tickets, organize activities, run concerts, the EVS can take part in many different activities.

They can join concert booking groups, join photo groups, do sports with other volounteers, work with advertisement and so on.

Horário: The working hours are 30 hours per week. Holiday:The volunteer will have 5 weeks holiday with paid allowance during the period.
