Resumo: Project will take place in Torun - one of the most beautiful city in Poland. In Torun live around 200,000 inhabitants and has 115,75 sq. km area. City is located in centre of Poland, in Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship. Torun is one of the most easily recognizable and known cities in Poland, which is due to its long history, strategic location, preserved medieval monuments, and most of all, because of the people who influenced the historic and modern image of the city. On the 4th of December 1997, during the 21st plenary session of the Committee of the World Heritage UNESCO in Naples, the Old Town Complex of Torun was inscribed on the List of the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage. Torun is one of the most visited polish city by foreigner tourists and group of students from abroad. Inhabitants of Torun are friendly and open for foreigners. Torun is famous because of the best known inhabitant who was born here - astronom Nicolaus Copernicus, one of the best polish university - Nicolaus Copernicus Univeristy and delicious gingerbreads - katarzynki. Torun is university city where during academic year a lot of students learn and live. UMK organizes every year projects within Erasmus programme, so Torun is multicultural city where students all over the world learn. More information about Torun on website www.torun.pl.
Hosting organization in EVS projects will be Kujawsko-Pomorska Wojewodzka Komenda Ochotniczych Hufcow Pracy (OHP) in Torun which was established in 1999 and it is one of the 16th district Headquarters OHP in Poland. Team of European Projects and International Cooperation of WojewA3dzka Komenda is responsible for international cooperation. Every year we coordinate several international projects for youth workers and youth from OHP within Youth in Action Programme and Polish-Lithuanian Youth Exchange Fund. We prepare and lead workshops for OHP participants during which we encourage them to be active and creating their own international projects

Perfil: Volunteer should be: 1. creative, 2. independent, 3. open for new people, culture, language, 4. curious and open minded. 4. should like to cooperate with children and youth - to help develop their interests and encourage them to be active by different activities, 5. resistant to defeats

Tarefas: Volunteer will be mainly involved in work with young people with fewer life opportunities because of various problems like economic, social, family or school. The tasks of the volunteer's include: 1. organizing activities for youth (15-25) to encourage them to be active (sport, film, art, ecology activities etc. - depends on volunteer) or involving in activities conducting by guardians, 2. helping in organizing free time for our participants (mainly who are accommodated in dormitory) by leading for them intercultural workshops, presentations about EVS or European countries, 3. helping in realization ideas and activities of our participants and develop their interests, 4. organizing intercultural animations-workshops (about language, culture, EVS etc.) for youth (15-25), 5. organizing activities for children from primary school during open room activities, 6. information and promoting activities about EVS and Youth in Action Programme among youth and for unemployed in various places (schools, international centres, job fairs etc.), 7. helping in Youth Job office – helping the staff to service of unemployed people who visit OHP to get temporary or state job, 8. helping in organizing international cooperation. Volunteer can create new projects within Youth in Action Programme in cooperation with our participants.
