Resumo: Is a supporting organisation in creative and artistical fields with intercultural offers for children and young people. They come to our organisation and participate actively in the offered cultural program. The participating children and young people live mostly in the north of Duisburg, a social burning point with a high rate of unemployment among young people. They are often children of migrants, born and grown up in Germany and have often difficulties with their own identity and acceptance in their surrundings. why Kiebitz regards himself as a "Third place". Here meet children and youngsters of all nationalities, can have common experiences by intercultural activities and therefore get to know and unterstand each other better. By offering volunteer services, we want to give as well our young people as the volunteers the possibility to gain european experiences in the creative/artistic field. The spreading of the european thought has a high value.

Perfil: The volunteer should be interested in gaining work experience in general and he/she should be interested in arts or the working with children and young persons. Volunteers can only offer workshops of their own if they pocess adequate artistic experience. All work is project-oriented.

Tarefas: The volunteer ist integrated into the general organisatoric work of the International youth and Culture Centre Kiebitz e.V. The volunteer will take part and work in several projectforms: e,g. short-term offers for schools, long- and short-term offers for leisure activities in workshops or courses. The volunteer is involved in preparation, realization and evaluation of each project. He/she is assisting the artist in his work with the children and young persons, in the preparation of the public presentation, takes part in the artistic work. Each of the projects shows the evident intercultural dimension as the participants are mostly migrants. The taks of the volunteers may be innummerable, depending of the individual interests of the young person. A diversity of organisatoric tasks and performance times, supporting activities or practical work is given. For more challengeing projects, a supporting person is adjoint to the volunteer for his/her guiding. In case of generating a project of his/her own, the volunteer is offerd support by an employee experienced in that field for the financing, preparation and realisation of the project. The volunteer has the opportunity to find out and develop his/her abilities and interests. According to his/her interests the volunteer will get tasks that encourage this development. Examples of practical work: Tasks in the field Theatre: Participation in all theatre projects else as actor or as assistant to the director or assistance in documentation or enquiry. Responsibility for costumes or documentation material. Assistance for pubic performances of the theatre group or for the weekly presentations of the school offers (technics, organisation, artistic domain). Tasks in the field Arts. Participation in various offers for schools or leisure-time of the division. Assistance to the artistis of the division. Support for the professional artists during their work with the lokal youngsters. Development of own projects/workshops for the divi

Horário: Schedule of a working day: 8.30 am meeting - routine of the day. 9.00 - 13.00 am co-organisation of the offers in the fields. Music, dance, theatre, arts, photografie, video (according to the interests of the volunteer). 13.00 pm lunch. 14.00 - 16.00 work with children from the district. 16.00 pm reflection. Depending of the interests of the volunteer the schedule may vary, depending on wether workshops of interest take place also on weekends or in school holidays. The volunteer kann take his/her holidays according to agreement independent from the official holidays of the centre.
