Resumo: As we start in fall the organizing and the artistic work for the Vienna DanceAbility dance-battle (this is not the final name) we would like to host a volunteer to help us to explore this new field.

We will work weekly in small mixed-ability-groups to prepare as well administrative things (renting the studio, pr, ticketing, finding a jury, ...) and also we will be part of the competition.
Places where the volunteer will be:
- at the office of Grenzenlos, Vienna.
- at the weekly class in Vienna 1150, Neubaugürtel 7
- at the home-office of Vera Rebl, 2320 Rannersdorf, Möwenweg 33
- at different studios like WuK, maybe a theatre
- at Albert-Schweitzer-Haus, 1090 Vienna
Also we plan to do a short intensive start October for a dance-video ‘changing views’, if we would find a volunteer who is also interested in creating artistic movies or related
The location of the housing of the voluntary will be Vienna as well as the studios (all are in Vienna or nearby).

This project is coordinated by Grenzenlos, which means that the volunteer will be integrated in the MELANGE programm, the EVS in Vienna in cooperation with the city of Vienna/wienXtra This means that she will have the opportunity to meet 25 other foreign EVS volunteers as well as Austrian returnees. All volunteers will be offered a leisure time programm, in order to get to know specifics about the Austrian and Viennese culture. There are monthly meetings in order to offer continuous follow-up of the volunteers and to offer a social event where current, future and former volunteers can meet. Grenzenlos also organizes housing, helps with finding language courses for the volunteers and offers a mentoring programm as well as help with all administrative matters.

what you can offer to volunteers in terms of Service and learning opportunities: We can offer full sharing of our work and knowledge and we hope it will be an exchange of skills

• what will be the role of EVS volunteers in the Host Organisation,
we ask the EVS to be part of the weekly workshops (open class) – also as an active dancer
as well as the special projects (with a fix team)
He or she will be integrated in our regularly work as well as our other acitivities: improvisations in the public, christmas-showing, finding locations and making contracts about use, public relation, fundraising etc.
As we start to do monthly a ‘dance-battle’ it is work to organize the event (we have to organize a studio, live-music, ticketing, judges, special-guests, advertising, ...).
We do not have a video-documentation of the regular work (which is necessary for applications, etc.) and if the volunteer has skills to film and wants to create a documentation (including interviews) with the view of a fresh new person it would be great.
Technical stuff: 2 video-cameras and at the home-office in Rannersdorf a software to edit and cut video.

• the activities in which the volunteers could be involved and the activities the volunteers could create in your organisation.
the dance-workshops take place eigther in the mornings for schools or after work in the leisure time and at weekends
for example a Friday: packing the materials in the morning, working 2 hours in a school, preparing the afternoon-workshop, break until 4.30 pm and then workshop from 5.00-7.30 pm (organizing the transport for people who cannot do it alone, finishing up after the workshop);
about 2 afternoons or one full day at weekend are reherseals taking place
and also we made the experience that the EVS brings her/his personality with ideas inspired from our work – so we did many things we never expected to do without her.

Perfil: The volunteer should be nterested in art, dance and also other disciplines of art (like video, painting, fashion, ...). He or she should be creative, open, communicative and also being interested in working in mixed-ability-situations.
The goal of our work is definitiv art for social change and NOT THERAPY.
To make the communication easier with the staff, knowledge of English or basic German would be an advantage.

Condições: The volunteer will get a tutor who will show him/her how to come around in Vienna and how to organize everyday life. The working environment is mostly the dance-studio where the volunteer is part of our group.
To prevent risks and crisis the tutor shall meet the volunteer in regular intervals to talk about the living in Vienna, the work at DanceAbility and whatever is necessary. The tutor will guide the volunteer if it is needed.
As beeing part of the MELANGE programm regular formal and non-formal meetings with the staff of Grenzenlos whos coordinates the melange programm and the project mentor are planned.
Grenzenlos staff will intervene and provide support and deal with crisis management with both the volunteer and host organisation and will in turn report, if necessary, will liaise with the volunteer's family. The volunteers will be provided with the needed emergency contacts in Vienna and a phone through which, in case of emergency, the Staff of Grenzenlos can be reached.
