Resumo: The purpose of this term is the completion, in a structured manner, of the following tasks:
- the nursing of at least 5 puppies/kittens from the Sannicolau Mare City Hall-administrated Animal Shelter, by every EVS volunteer: cleaning up the cages and the space outside each of them; feeding/grooming the animals; educate the animal in the basics of human interaction (walking, taking orders, accustoming with the leash and muzzle, accustoming the animal with routine elements and the way humans express affection etc) so that they can have more chances at being adopted.
- Organizing indoor and outdoor visits and workshops to the Animal Shelter, so that the younglings can learn the basics in relationships with pets, realize the importance of respecting animals rights, as well as encouraging them to adopt pets or to get involved as volunteers for the abandoned animals. The workshops will imply outdoor activities involving the animals, i.e.: throwing the disc, learning the name, “singing together”, playing with them with great tenderness and care etc.

Perfil: We wish that the EVS volunteers fit the following profile:
- 18-24 years old;
- Animal lovers and interest for the abandoned/homeless puppies and kittens
- Availability to complete a long-term internship outside their residing country and, subsequently, get actively involved in activities in which they explore the results of what they have learned in said internship;
- To have never participated in a volunteering internship through the EVS;
- Difficult or extremely difficult financial state

Tarefas: The volunteering activities for this term will be structured as following:
- 7 hours/ day, 5 days a week
- Saturdays and Sundays will be free (the volunteers, together with the hosting organization, have the possibility of reconfiguration, so that the two free days can be moved)
- Two days of vacation for each month of the term.

Condições: We will ensure for the EVS volunteers:
- accommodation in rented living quarters in Sannicolau Mare (2 persons per room), with access to shared spaces like bathroom, kitchen, hallway (equipped with furniture, dishes etc.)
- 60 euros per month per volunteer allowance, as well as, if necessary, an extra allowance of 40 euros per month per volunteer for personal expenses;
- 3 meals per day, in the shape of subscriptions to a cafeteria or a fixed amount of cash that would cover the buying and preparing expenses for the 3 meals/day;
- Free access to ICT and internet services

Conditions: This project seeks funding by the Youth in Action Programme, accommodation and food will be provided by the organizers. Travel costs to the venue and back will be covered 90 %, accommodation , foods and money pocket .
