Resumo: The hosting organization is an association for the personal and professional development of young people, works in two areas, which are often intertwined: sustainable development and youth work. These topics are at the heart of various activities carried out locally and internationally. In the field of youth work, our main goal is to support young people to become active members of their local communities, to identify and actively discuss their needs and interests, and to take full responsibility for their actions (we organize continuous workshop programmes at schools, international youth exchanges and trainings, we facilitated the process of youth strategy, we mentor young people in preparing their own projects,...).

Perfil: Age: 18-30

There are certain qualities that we are looking for in a volunteer - qualities that we think would make the volunteer a good fit for the project, for our organization and the local environment. These qualities include...
+ a good grasp of English. You don't need to understand everything and speak perfectly, but in order to work with the local community and to feel comfortable here, you should be able to hold a conversation in English.
+ some experience of working with children. Any level of experience is valid - whether you worked formally with kids before or just come from a big family, it's all helpful.
+ enthusiasm for the project. We want a volunteer who really wants to carry out the project and to be here with us. Being an international volunteer isn't always easy (we know from our own experiences!), but enthusiasm can go a long way to helping you through the tougher moments.
+ independence and interests of your own. To make the most of any experience, it's a good idea to know what you want to take from it. If you don't know concretely yet, having a feeling for your own identity and a desire to do for yourself is a great start.

Tarefas: You will have some freedom in choosing the activities that you do during your time, from a selection that we offer. You may, of course, also make your own suggestions and together we will agree on your work schedule.

+ helping in language and STEM classes at Gradec Elementary School
+ leading after-school sports, garden or playtime activities at Gradec
+ forest pedagogy and free play time in the forest at Kresnice
+ helping out on school trips


As well as working at the school, you will have 2 days per week for other activities.
These activities will include some work for the organization and at a medicinal herb farm.
As an organisation, we have 3 main areas of focus: youth work, sustainability and culture. Youth work is covered by your work at the school, but you will also contribute to the other areas by helping out on our projects, events, and also on some local farms.

More specifically, these tasks may include...
+ helping out on Herb Farm one day per week
+ assisting in the community events, such as festivals and concerts
+ assisting in the projects, such as youth exchanges and youth worker trainings
+ helping to manage the social media pages and website
+ any other task you choose for yourself

Condições: + We will provide you with accommodation.
+ You will receive the full pocket money and food allowance.
+ Your medical insurance will be covered by your EU healthcard and by ESC.
+ We will refund your travel costs up to the amount allocated by the ESC program. Please keep all of your travel tickets!
