Resumo: (Social welfare and second-hand boutique)

The mission, values, and objectives of the state branch correspond to those stated under applicant organisation. Although the services provided may differ in detail from one state branch to another, they—as well as the target groups—are fundamentally the same as those described under applicant organisation.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

The hosting organizaion is looking for a motivated young person who is interested in volunteering in various areas of health and social services.

You would be a great fit if you:

Are interested in social and second-hand shops, including handling donated food and non-food items.
Enjoy meeting and communicating with people from different backgrounds.
Are open-minded, friendly, reliable and able to work independently as well as in a team.
Feel comfortable living in a smaller town, just 30 minutes from Vienna.
Are interested in the work of the organization and share our humanitarian values.
Basic German skills (A2) are helpful, and a willingness to learn is appreciated.

Tarefas: Project Overview and Areas of Work
The volunteer will join the team, working alongside local volunteers and staff. The project focuses on social support, community engagement and helping people in need.

Main Activity: Social and Second-Hand Shop
Tasks include operating the cash register, sorting and pricing donated goods, accepting and collecting donations, and supporting daily shop activities.
Once a month, volunteers also support Team, collecting and distributing food to people in need.

Optional Activities:
Children’s Learning Support: Helping with homework and exam preparation (twice a week; German B1/B2 required).
Senior Citizens’ Group: Supporting monthly activities and excursions every two months.
Health and Social Services: Helping set up nursing and hospital beds and install personal emergency response systems.
Volunteers gain practical experience, develop new skills and contribute to the community.

Condições: The volunteer will be lodged directly at the district office building with a fully furnished room, an equipped kitchen and a washing machine. The town is well located with a tight network of public transport (busses, trams, trains) that connects the volunteer to the nearest towns as well as the capital.
